Fire Yusuke’s Spirit Gun, Attack Players With A Fishing Rod In J-Stars Victory Vs.

By Spencer . August 20, 2013 . 2:30pm

image Jump has more details about how Hunter X Hunter fighter Gon Freecss and YuYu Hakusho’s Yusuke Urameshi work in J-Stars Victory Vs. Gon has his rock and scissors attacks, the magazine explains, and his fishing rod. The fishing rod can hook enemies and throw them. This move also breaks an enemy’s guard. A screenshot shows Gon using Stone Reversal where he lifts the ground up right under an opponent’s feet.

Yusuke Urameshi sounds like a rushdown character type since his specialty is close range combat and rushes into battle without giving other characters a chance to retaliate. Yusuke has his usual moves like Spirit Gun and Spirit Wave.

As players take damage they fill up the Voltage Meter and when that gauge reaches the maximum players can unleash a devastating super special attack. Stages in J-Stars Victory Vs. change and transform as players do special attacks too.

J-Stars Victory Vs. is in development for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

  • I would still like to compare them to their Jump Ultimate Stars counterparts.

      say kupo moogle

  • DragKudo

Was Ranma and Inuyasha shonen jump? If so they need the to be in this as well The blue exorcist and a slam dunk character.

    • D-Rev

They were both in shounen sunday

  • greg_67

Has the magazine scans shown up yet?

If only there was a possibility of this coming out overseas…

Unfortunately though, not only are the series in it split between VIZ and Funimation, but the vocal casts are also split between Texas and LA (in addition to varying in union status)…

    • SuBw00FeR

Being a fighting game there wont be that much of a problem importing one, just gotta learn the menus.

      • Virevolte

Yeah, I don’t want to miss it, even if I don’t understand a thing when playing it.

    • JakatoX

As much as I would also like the game to come out overseas with the English Dub Casts we might actually have a slightly better chance of seeing them translating the menus and the dialogue through subtitles and getting a PSN release similar to how Pirate Warriors and Ken’s Rage 2 did.

      • Koibito888

That still doesn’t fix the issue of rights sadly.

        • JakatoX

Copyrights maybe but if they were to do it that way they wouldn’t have to worry about paying voice actors from different studios that are in Texas and LA.

If anything all they would have to do is pay off for the rights to use them in general since it would be Japanese Audio….Again I would prefer it if we got it Dubbed or Dual Audio somehow but it would still be easier to bring over with just Menu Translations and Story Subtitles

          • Koibito888

Easier yes, would they? No way. They would not pay extra for multiple uses of rights for a game this obscure. Maybe if this game comes out and sells a shit ton, like, record breaking level then would they consider it for subbed with Japanese audio. Dub is just downright impossible sadly.

          • JakatoX

Well I never said they would, I’m just saying it would the best bet “IF” they wanted to bring it over in the best case scenario.

The odds are very staggering for it to be brought over at all however like I said they brought over both Pirate Warriors games and Ken’s Rage 2 as Subtitled PSN titles so there is a Very VERY slim chance it COULD be brought over.

I mean if you want to talk about Obscure titles being brought over look at Project X Zone, that game was a Super Obscure JRPG pseudo sequel to a Crossover game we never got and had to have 3 Companies agree on bringing it over and majority of the Sega Games featured in it never even got a release in English Speaking countries.

If that game could be brought over it’s not entirely impossible for this one to come over here too but the odds are strongly against it even with a PSN only release.

          • Koibito888

Yeah, we’re pretty much saying the same thing. It is possible in the way of anything’s possible, but the odds are highly against it.

  • Seta Soujiro

sad they didn’t keep up with the jump superstars into the 3ds

  • William Carpenter

Loving the coverage this game is getting. Hoping there’s enough buzz to get it localized, as unlikely as that might be. I’m a huge fan of YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter, and I’d loooove to play as them in a big silly crossover fighting game.

  • Rini11

I want this localized so much and I hope to see Kurapika and Hiei as well:)

Hisoka or Killua or Kite :P
