Nintendo and The Pokémon Company had a demo for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y set up at Gamescom, and YouTube user Nintendaan managed to get English-language camera footage from the booth in fairly decent quality. Check the demo out below:

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be available worldwide on October 12th for 3DS.

    Just give us the damn demo in the eShop already ; ;

    • SlickRoach

And instead of the standard 30 uses I’m gonna need about 300 to hold me off till the 12th. Seriously, I feel like a junkie without his fix waiting for this game.

      • oh god, me too!!!

      • kmantle

Unlimited uses like the FF demo

        • SlickRoach

There was a game demo without limits? Never knew, I always thought 30 was the max.

          • Steven Higgins

Well, if the person above you is talking about the FF XIII-2 demo, that was on the PS3. I’ve never had 3DS demo with unlimited uses.

          • Was talking about the Final Fantasy music game thing

          • komiko12

Actually, the game he was talking about is Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. When the demo was first released it had unlimited uses but it was later corrected to just 30 days.

  • Sardorim

Alright. It looks like it’s time for me to catch them all yet again.

  • Ivan Junior

That Dragonite’s really sexy. Shit, I’m gonna buy it.

  • J_Joestar

Hope we get a full Fairy Strength/Weakness chart soon.

    • Corginand

IIRC It’ll be in next month’s CoroCoro

    • Brion Valkerion

Have a feeling one will be Dark, and hoping for Poison as well because Poison has always been really weak.

      • J_Joestar

rumors say it is supposed to be weak to steel and poison,

  • AuraGuyChris

Sycamore: Oh, you must be the new trainer! Here, have a lvl.100 Mewtwo with a Mega Stone whose name you won’t be able to check for this demo.
Xavier: Has anyone ever told you you’re the best professor?

  • YoshEE

Where the demo on eShop!!!!! T.T

  • I’m so getting these!

  • Godman

I’m disappointed that we didn’t really get to see the player customize the trainer in any way
It was pretty cool to see Mega Mewtwo though.

  • ndjn3979

I can appreciate the new fancy graphics, but if I were to be looking at them hundreds of times…

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

I hope follow me Pokemon return

    • Steven Higgins

      Doesn’t look like it unfortunately.

      • RinaDawg

I think I saw some Pokemon move around freely in the demo. It looks promising!

  • Steven Higgins

So many things right with this demo.
    1. So you have to agree to battles now? Yes! No more trying to avoid trainers when my Pokemon are low on HP and I’m out of Potions.
    2. A Prof who actually fights? Cool.
    3. Did anyone else hear that last wild Pikachu say “Pika!”? So did they get rid of the synthesized cries?
    4. I love how each trainer has their own pre-battle animation and the fact that we see the defeated Pokemon return.

    • DuskSharkEX

      1. Most likely just for the demo.

      2. Agreed.

      3. It’s only for Pikachu…but they are updating some old cries.

      4. That’s most likely only for important opponents.

      • Guest

But what about the first battle. That just looked like a regular random Lass.

        • DuskSharkEX

          Shauna? She’s no Lass.

          • Steven Higgins

No, the first battle the blonde but after going full screen I saw it was Serena, the FeMC.

      • Steven Higgins

Why would they put something in the Demo that isn’t in the full game? That’s false advertisement! Boo!

        • DuskSharkEX

          It IS a timed demo.

        • Suicunesol

You didn’t really think the professor would really give you a level 100 Mewtwo, right? :P

          • Steven Higgins

I was talking about trainer battles being optional. The Mewtwo thing didn’t really count as false advertising because thee are Mega Pokemon in the game and I realize that it was only there to give the demoers a taste of Mega Power. Its completely different then giving you an option in a demo that won’t be in the full game.

    • Sango

As far as the pika goes, I think it’ll only be for pikachu. Pikachu’s voice actress has some involvement with the game.

  • Yvonne Tsang

The graphics look very charming. I’m disappointed with the camera work though; it’s far too zoomed in and I can’t get the bigger picture of the map. For some reason, I feel like the character model’s just too big compared to the screen size. I wonder if that was the mid text option or fast? I hope the text is as fast as Black/White. I’m mostly concerned about battle speed at this point though, because the animations seem a bit lengthier than Black/White.

  • AverageGamers

Wow, that really looks sweet… XD

  • Storm

Here’s one with direct audio. It clearly shows that they have updated the cries for older Pokemon (Mewtwo, Crobat, Dragonite):

    • Aerii

Dat Pikachu cry. Wow, I’m actually kinda surprised (but of course no one else is getting anime-style cries).

Not feeling the guitar battle music though.

    • Renaldi Saputra

so that’s how mega evolution work

  • Renaldi Saputra

    that looks pretty decent..
hope we will see the super training demo
I wonder what it will look like

  • Ryo-kun

    I need a 3ds and fast

  • Vash bane

now npc trainers have a animation I think i’ll buy a 3ds alongside it :) most ppl I know are going for Y so I guess ill be the odd one and get X(yes I finally decided XD?

  • artemisthemp

Still can’t believe their is a chandelier Pokemon

    • miju

Yet you can believe there’s a magnet Pokemon?

      • artemisthemp

        I am ok with that

  • JNT

Loving the new wild battle theme
