    Japanese subs… pretty please?

    • TheBlackRabbit

why Japanese subs? can u understand them?

      • taekk

Yes, as a matter of fact.

        • Edzo04

good for you. maybe buy the japanese version instead? seems like that would make a hell of a lot more sense

          • taekk

Yes, because I can just buy the Japanese version right off PSN. Oh, that’s right! Currency on PSN is region-locked. What’s wrong with multi-language support? It’s not hurting you.

          • 하세요

It just sounds a little silly to translate a game for NA / EU yet have an option to have everything in Japanese when you can just get the Japanese version as it’s region-free.

If PSN is your only option then perhaps it’s time to invest in a JPN PSN account. You can’t blame SEGA for not considering those in America / Europe that have PS3’s that cannot read discs (assuming that’s your problem) yet can fully understand Japanese.

          • taekk

Why is it silly to leave text that’s already in the game? It seems sillier to intentionally take it out. Would you want the EU version in France to only have French and the version in Spain to only have Spanish? How do you “invest” in a Japanese credit card? I already have a JPN PSN account. How do I “just” buy the Japanese version without paying way more? I’m not blaming Sega, I’m just hoping they did it like they did for Resonance of Fate so I can buy the game.

          • 하세요

If they leave everything Japanese as an option, then there would be no reason for the Japanese to buy the game in Japan as they would all buy the cheaper NA / EU version. Huge profit loss. Gotta look at things in a business perspective as well.

          • KonjikinoSora

Because it came out in Japan several months ago, I don’t think that would happen.

          • 하세요

Not everyone gets every game day one.

          • wyrdwad

Currency on PSN is region-locked indeed, but sites like http://www.japan-codes.com let you buy PSN point cards at slightly over market value, and email you the code right away. So you can always just PayPal yourself a PSN card and download it from J-PSN.

…Or, y’know, support this localization effort so we see more Miku in the west. Especially since you’re really NOT going to be paying any attention to the lyrics anyway.

        • Alexander Aubert

of course if you want to buy japan import it will be expensive, but what is wrong with romaji anyway?

          • taekk

Nothing’s wrong with romaji. What’s wrong with more options?

        • TheBlackRabbit

          Awesome, that is pretty cool!

    • DS23

Pretty sure the game is optionally subbed in Romanji for what it’s worth.

    • Neppygear

Does anyone actually pay attention to the song lyrics, though? There’s a lot of stuff going on just above them, y’know…

      • xAtKx

^this, especially when playing on extreme

      • M’iau M’iaut

Always my issue with these games. Like you are paying any attention to the music video itself, sadly.

      • Hound

By the demo, it looked like there was a song watching mode. Unless that’d just play the full track’s audio..

I was hoping for an English sub mode. But, they aren’t showing off the option, it seems. It’d give my sisters something to look at when it’s the other person’s turn. (other than the videos.)

        • Kevadu

There is a song-watching mode, for sure. And having the song lyrics translated as subs would have been appreciated there…

    • taekk

Anyhoo, I hear it might have Japanese subtitles after all so I’m just gonna buy it used from Gamestop, see for myself, return it, and buy it new online if it does. :-)

      • Neppygear

Is it really that big a deal to you? Just get it new, jeebus. This, the nichest of the niche, needs all the support it can get.

        • taekk

Yes, it’s a big deal to me but no worries, I’m sure I’m in a very, very small minority so it won’t affect how well this game succeeds at all.

    • Zoozbuh

Hmm.. This is what I had been hoping for too. But I can imagine adding english subs for every single song would have taken a way longer time for them. That being said, what have they even had to translate?! It took this long to be released, and.. for what? *ungrateful idiot mode* xD

  • “Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F Out Today”
…but not in Europe. It’s been delayed till next Wednesday

  • Brandonmkii

Ugh, so mad I spent more from my psn wallet than I wanted. For some reason I thought this was 30$, not 50$. Oh well, next week, after Miku’s birthday.

  • Neppygear

My copy got shipped yesterday, yippee skippee.

  • Light Soul

Got mine’s today and it is such a great game! Really happy this game came to the west. I hope it sells well.

  • Göran Isacson

On the one hand, 38 songs feels like a somewhat limited selection… on the other hand I am comparing this to other music games that have like a hundred songs, but where those songs most likely have a WAY different rules regarding licensing and ease of access and God knows what else. Besides, being able to edit your own music video and assorted other odds and ends would probably make up for the songs… because seriously, there’s got to be more than 38 famous vocaloid songs. Anyone who knows if the Evil Princess series will be in?

    • Neppygear

There’s a lot more than 38 famous Vocaloid songs, yes…
…you’ll find them in previous entries of the series. Some of the more obvious picks (World is Mine, Melt, PoPiPo, Magnet, Disappearance, etc.) have already been used up.

      • Göran Isacson

Ah, I see. Still, this is the first game that’s released in the West, isn’t it? Maybe they’ll release the old songs as DLC in that case, so the West gets the opportunity to shower them in money too.

        • Neppygear

I doubt they’d go so far as to make whole new DLC for the Western edition, so I reckon we just have to pray that F does well enough for us to also get F 2nd, which will have remakes of older songs. (Romeo & Cinderella and Colorful x Melody, both from PjD 2nd, have been confirmed so far)

    • dra6o0n

You can use mp3 to create your own.

  • I played the game in Japanese, but I can say that this game was very fun. The system has been streamlined somewhat from the PSP game and the songs are all rather nice. (My favorite are Kaito’s two songs, Len’s Baku, Rin’s Teddy Bear, and wowoka’s songs.) I do feel for some reason that the difficulty is higher than in Project Diva 2nd (the only PSP game I played), although the stars (where you wiggle the analog sticks) are free points – which is just as well since the point system seems to expect you to get them, so at least it’s balanced. The animation is great, too. I haven’t played around much with the Edit Mode, though.

    I’m looking forward to the 2nd F :)

  • Learii

I hope is sell good so we can get the 2nd one to the west

  • Hound

I seriously hope this gets latches on a bit in the west. The Japanese Vocaloids have a rather massive marketing opportunity. They’re mascot characters, that sing, with a unique style, and each has developed some funny quirks over the years. Would be nice to see toys etc with them on it in the future

  • fireemblembeast

    It’s really fun so far!
I unlocked almost all of the songs so I decided to try out edit mode…
    Edit mode…y u so frustrating? >:/

  • Presea

Awesome we finally got a Miku game! I hope the sales go well :) the demo was really fun.

  • Antixono

    Can’t wait to get this!
