Monster Hunter Smart for iOS Looks Visually Impressive

By Eugene . September 10, 2013 . 4:01pm

Autumn will bring another new Monster Hunter game to the platforms in Japan with Capcom’s newly announced social game Monster Hunter Smart. 4Gamer broke the news, and the video above shows off the game’s graphics and gameplay.

Capcom’s press release notes that it will be possible to play one-handed, which, judging from the video, will likely combine movement and battle.

The game also seems to be using assets from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Exactly how or what the social aspect will be like alongside further details will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.

Can anyone clarify how it works?

Any possibilities on an iPad version?

    • Mental

Well, it says “iOS”, not strictly “iPhone/iPod Touch”, so I bet that it most likely will come to iPad as well.

If you have an iPhone go to the app store and lookup Monster Hunter Dynamic Hunting.

I’m pretty sure it might start off someplace there, but you never know.

  • Pockystix

    I don’t even. . .

Gonna change my post to: “Capcom has over 20 million downloads, Continues as a series” >.> watch it will happen. Ok now to shoot myself

I feel bad… this actually looks quite good..

  • Chaos_Knight

Thank god it’s not another card game. This actually looks good.

    • ronin4life

I for one wouldn’t mind a good card Game of monhun.
      Of course, by “Card game” I don’t mean the type that most mobile devs are obsessed with…>.>;;;

      • AndyLC

There’s an actual monster hunter card game, with physical cards. You have hunters and items and all that.

        • ronin4life

I remember hearingabout that… aside from being expensive, I don’t think it is in print/findable anymore…

Now if they made an android game of that…

  • Pdugna

wait…they can make a iOS monster hunter….yet cant make a Vita version of the game?

    • Duc PC-QB

Capcom has a deal with themself not to make any Vita game anymore lol

    • teknik1200

You mean to say you don’t already have Monster Hunter on your iOS device?

Are you playing 3u at least?

    • Gideon de Groodt

I don’t see what iOS and Sony have to do with eachother?

And seeing how most people lately own an iOS device[pretty popular], and not that many own PS Vitas[not so popular really].

Sure, it might boost sales for PS Vita incredibly if a really popular series would decide to bring a game out on it. But given on how the Vita is doing right now on the market.. I don’t think so.

  • teknik1200

Am I sensing many folks aren’t even aware of the current iOS monster hunter game?

Capcom actually gave it a significant upgrade awhile back.

  • HassanJamal

Looks ok, not impressive. Wonder how the controls would even work with touchscreen only.
