Yukio Futatsugi has worked on a number of projects after Panzer Dragoon like the excellent Phantom Dust, but he’s probably best known for developing Sega’s dragon riding series. Crimson Dragon from Grounding is in many ways a spiritual successor to Panzer Dragoon. The game was originally called Project Draco and was supposed to be a Kinect title, but Microsoft moved it to Xbox One and dropped Kinect.

At Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft announced Crimson Dragon will be released on November 22 making it a launch title and it will only cost $20. If you buy Crimson Dragon before December 31, you will receive an exclusive dragon as a bonus. For more about Crimson Dragon and why they game was reworked with traditional controls read our interview.

Has to be a download title. So, besides that it looks well above par from what a lower-profile DL game usually looks like, not seeing the issue.

    It looks okay…that’s all.

  • Kolibri

Looks REALLY nice. The 2 first pics are gorgeous.

    Panzer Drago-o-n! :)

hope the price does not reflect the length of the game . man i wanted this so bad on xbla.
hope its successful enough to warrant sequels release on other consoles

Wish this was a multiplatform gaming.

Maybe the rest of the game will be paid download content in the future? For a game as hyped and long in the tooth as this, I find it hard to believe they only have 20$ worth of content prepared.

  • Göran Isacson

Man, just 20 bucks? I was NOT prepared for that… which is kind of silly since it HAD been planned as a download game for XBLA. I guess with all the hype I thought it was going to count as a full-price game.
