Hands On Footage Of Sonic Lost World Shows Sonic’s Stylish Parkour

By Eugene . September 23, 2013 . 3:31pm

4Gamer had some hands-on time with upcoming Sonic Lost World at Tokyo Game Show, which series producer Takashi Iizuka previously said will be “different from everything before”. The full-3D (with some 2D stages), go anywhere gameplay is almost a full-circle of learning from Sonic X-Treme to Super Mario Galaxy and now Lost Worlds.

The video has no sound, unfortunately, but does show off Sonic’s ability to hang and climb back up from overhangs—a boon considering the 3D world—a quick time-trial section (which the player fails and then passes on) as well as the Wisp power of what looks like Cyan Laser. Directional control for the power was done on the Wii U’s controller. Did you spot the spin dash?

Sonic Lost Worlds is scheduled for a October 22 release in North America, and October 18th in Europe for Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS.

What about SEGA releasing a video showing off the Deadly Six English voices? Big news since we finally have a chance to listen to the new villains voices. (GameTrailers also uploaded a video showing off the opening cutscene of the game, along with a look at a new piece of Windy Hill level in the game.)

EDIT – Article probably need to be updated. SEGA of America uploaded the Deadly Six voice video, but at the end the release date was October 29th. Seems like in the U.S. the game has been delayed by a week, but everyone else is unchanged.

Zeena is gonna be such a sassy bitch. Guaranteed…I love it.

They actually look and sound somewhat distinct and fun albeit generic and designed to get their points across… >_>

Let’s see if the gameplay and level design holds up, on top of having some good boss encounters. I hope the portable version is actually worth buying this year.

Can’t wait for the soundtrack to this game. Jun Sunoe, Tomoya Ohtani and etc always delivers.

I thought the comments and complaints about sonic being too slow where untrue. The trailer he looked like he moved at the right speed. However, after seeing this video I see why some where complaining. Without the bounce pads and speed boost he moves way to slow. They should have used adventure 2 as a base for his speed. I was upset about missing this one by not having a wiiU but now not so sure.

I think after unleashed, people think that anything slower than that is too slow. I disagree. I like having more options to platform than the past couple of games.
