Watch Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes’ Opening In English

By Ishaan . September 24, 2013 . 11:13pm

Konami have shared an extended look at Metal Gear Solid V, fresh out of Tokyo Game Show, including an English video, which is the opening to the game. Note that Konami are now describing Ground Zeroes as the “opening” to Metal Gear Solid V, despite prior claims that it would be an entirely separate game.

Metal Gear Solid V – Side Ops (TGS 2013 Special Mission)

Perhaps Ground Zeroes will be included as part of Metal Gear Solid V, but will also be released separately, as a “pilot” of sorts, in order to let players get a taste for the game, before they put their money down for the full version.

O mannnnnnnn, i nearly had forgotten bout this game, this year really trying to kill my wallet.

Tho, is GZ/MGS5 still being planned for PS3? Or did that got scratched and is only for PS4/X1.

And Kiefer sounds actaully really good as Snake, find the boss more fitting to Big boss now, tho it would be awesome if Solid was in this game and was voiced by hayter too.

    • It’s both current and next-gen.

      • konsama

Alright, thanks for the confirmation. Cuz i have no plans for next gen consoles in some years.

        Did you delete my comment?

Damn, Big Boss took a lot of hits in that last mission.
Hopefully, this was on easy mode or something. That health regen looks ridiculously fast.

They’re really showing off the combat there. CQCs, nades, rifles, vehicles. Doing the playthrough in full action seems fun too. This might be easy mode (20 C4 lol). Still, there’s Big boss Hard for everyone else.

that HP ragen, if you’ve played many of the previous mgs games, the complete recovery feels like you can take hit forever lol

  • neocatzon

That side ops, really like it when Snake grab the objective and it’s still went on with ingame engine instead moving to a cutscene.

Also, cqc chain. I wish Fisher can learn a thing or two..

It may just be some of the amazing performances in recent games, but that voice acting just felt all around underwhelming. The game looks great and I’m extremely excited though. Hope it lives up to my expectations.

  • Taylor Davis

I will say this, Kiefer Sutherland is a darn right great actor but as a voice actor for Snack…it doesn’t seem right. Yes, I was excited that Kiefer is voice actor for Big Boss but now hearing that; I don’t know. Well when I get the game, I’ll judge it from there. I can’t wait for this game!~

    • Kai2591

yeah, initiially I didn’t really mind too much that Kiefer Sutherland’s the new Big Boss, but after watching this video….Snake’s voice just doesn’t feel right…hmm….but at the end when the video finally shows his face and he speaks, if felt fine all a sudden.

Btw, who’s that character in your display picture?

      • Taylor Davis

The character is Pariet from Summon Night 5.

        • Kai2591

          ah, no wonder looks familiar.

No offense to Kiefer Sutherland, but I would have prefered David Hayter. They once claimed that Big Boss would be too old for Hayter to voice… when they kinda forgot that Hayter voiced Old Snake in MGS4 who looked even older than Big Boss in MGS5.

  • Kaseladen

I’m really not liking what I’m seeing, either in Sutherland’s performance or now seeing the gameplay in action. I might sit this one out, but I’ll wait until I see a bit more to decide.

  • It’s Metal Gear. I want it.
