Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Shows Off Housing And PvP Arena

Recommended Videos

In a Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn presentation held during Tokyo Game Show last week, producer/director Naoki Yoshida shared a glimpse of what one can expect from the game’s upcoming version 2.1 update. Square Enix have uploaded a few short videos showing some of the new features.

The housing feature will be appearing as a guild house for your Free Company in the 2.1 update. In addition to the 380 furniture pieces and exteriors you’ll be able to decorate it with, there will be three sizes out of small, medium and large for the building. A personal housing option will be available later on.

In the footage, we get a glimpse of some of the furniture we’ll be seeing, such as the marbol-themed chandelier and Cactuar lamp.

The much anticipated PvP feature will also be appearing in version 2.1, as “The Wolves’ Den”. The fights will be 4 vs. 4, and will have three level types of 30, 40, and 50. Additionally, there will also be some PvP exclusive actions, so fighting in the arena against your fellow adventurers won’t be exactly the same as fighting your regular enemies.

Finally, the above is a look at the new dungeon, called “The Binding Coil of Bahamut(Turns 1-5)”. Unlike the other dungeons, you’ll be required to take on five different areas to clear it, and according to Square Enix, it requires a full party of eight people and is also very difficult. The fifth part of the dungeon has yet to be cleared, even by the developers themselves.

Square Enix have not yet announced a date of when the update will go live, but it is expected to be within the upcoming months.
