Namco Bandai have shared a new trailer for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst, showing off the visual differences between the updated version of the game and the original Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. Watch the video below.

Full Burst adds Kabuto as a playable character, a new story chapter, 100 new missions, 38 more costumes, and visual enhancements to the game. It’s slated for release in the U.S. on October 22nd for Xbox 360 and PS3, with a PC version to follow in fall.

I understand the blur but why the desaturation? I always liked how they weren’t afraid to be more colourful than the anime at times. Can’t say that I’m impressed.

    It actually looks….kinda worse?

  • Robert Hendrie

Pc version is the 25th or so steam says

    • FlyingPony

Naruto game? On PC? This is out of norm..

  • Teepo 64

I assume the 38 costumes are the ones already released?

    • zaidandzhadow

plus the one Kabuto is using

  • yay, anti-aliasing!!! lol.

no, but really, this update is questionable. the crisp graphics from the initial release look more true to the anime/manga world that the game is based on. this also, for some reason, doesn’t feel the same as when fighting games, like DOA or P4A, do the whole re-release thing. i liked the original release of ninja storm 3, but i can not see myself getting this one.

  • greeeed

which one is new? right or left side?

    • Demeanor

Left says Narutimate Storm 3, right says special download content. Unless that was a perfectly understandable sarcasm XD

  • Demeanor

??? So… it’s exactly the same but more blurry? And what’s the point of showing a screen-by-screen comparison when they’re having tea together while switching to fullscreen when there are actual special effects being used in raging battle? O_o Should I pay for this DLC to get more snow?

  • subsamuel01

I think the original looks a lot better. I think they just did this for the sake of changing something instead of releasing the same game with a few additions.

  • Kalis Konig

They washed out the colors >_> and called it a improvement.

  • zaidandzhadow

I’m glad that this new version, doesn’t have any partiular incentive for me to buy it, i mean, 1 character, 20 minutes of new footage, plus les vivid colors, all this great content for the low amount of 40 dls, pfft, where is the downvote/unlike button?

  • If I have to fight with my eyes to see which one looks better, then it isn’t a visual upgrade. In fact, the PC version looks worse.

Some of the things work like the snow fog and dust storm in the background, but why they make the colors more “grounded”? I liked the colorful look they had for it and the original with Madara making his first appearance to the Alliance is MUCH better than the blurry scene for Full Burst.

Were they trying to give it a “cinematic” look to the game? o_0
Some good, some bad, some I don’t understand… they only upside is a new playable character Kabuto Sage Mode (who should’ve been playable to begin with) and the bonus chapter associated with him, and the new costumes but even still… to get them (and 100+ Missions) is to get this update and it’s not really worth entirely. I might get it still, but this is sort of not a good direction to take with a game update.

Should’ve they ask or use a poll to determine if the new “color scheme” would be great for consumers/players to enjoy?

  • Charlie Black

If the blur was applied properly this would’ve worked wonders. But alas someone was breathing intensely on the camera lens resulting in the blur, surprised they didn’t catch that. Too much Saki is not excuse!

  • Steam has the PC version as October 25th by the way.

  • Jahmere Durham

    It looks worse actually.

Whats the difference between ultimate ninja 3 and full burst?
