imageKonami is developing Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal Clash! Duel Carnival for Nintendo 3DS. The game is slated for release on December 15 and will include cards from the Kastle Siblings Duelist Pack.

Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal Clash! Duel Carnival has a story mode and a free duel mode. Players can create a deck using all of the cards available in the game in free duel. If you defeat an opponent you’ll get a duelist item. There are over 100 of these in the game including protectors and Duel Fields with special illustrations.

  • I wanted a Zexal World Championship game, but screw it– at this point I`ll take any new yugioh game.

  • anthony apduhan

Great now confirm Ryoga and Rio’s barian forms as Nasch and Merag respectively…

    • Unless it goes up to Legacy of the Valiant, I doubt it, sad to say.

    • God, I’m just happy they finally confirmed Rio’s in the game, period…

  • Dark Zerato

KNM needs to bring this game oversea. The YGO games are dead now since TF6 was released.

    • It doesn’t help sadly that they sorta decided to abandon Sony platforms (probably due to the Vita’s less than stellar performance), adjusting to the 3DS and probably building an entire new engine for it, making the series vanish for a full year aside from them rehashing Decade Duels onto PS3 PSN.

  • Minos

I always liked these crapy Yugi-OH games.

  • One really sad thing to realize: ZEXAL is almost over, and when all’s said and done it will likely only have gotten the one game.

But the funny thing to consider is that, given that we’ve never gotten a Yu-Gi-Oh! series in full since the first, this will probably cut off right around where the dub will.

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Since Zexal is garbage thats fine with me. Notice how 5D’s is the best and it got like a million games :D

      • You haven’t been following ZEXAL’s story lately, have you?

Once Tron/Vetrix and company show up, things start getting interesting – and once the Barians show up, all hell breaks loose. (Vector is the ultimate troll.)

        • FitzpatrickPhillips

I got about halfway into Season 2 when I couldn’t take it anymore. I heard it gets better but I’m not gonna suffer through nonsense to get to the good filling. All the other ones, 5D’s especially, I loved from ep 1.

          Is Kotori a duelist yet?

          • She’s dueled, yeah, but unfortunately she’s still kinda marginalized.

By “season 2,” which point do you mean? Had Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon showed up yet? (I watched that scene in Japanese…it was awesome. :3)

          • FitzpatrickPhillips

So she’s still just there to model extremely short skirts then, haha. Fine by me!

By season I mean when the world duel carnival had started. I was about 30 something eps in.

          • Yep. Things haven’t gotten interesting yet.

I’ll admit I mostly follow the plot through synopses on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia, though I have watched a few actual eps – mainly for the big story/spectacle moments. You might wanna do the same.

(Also, try to watch it in Japanese if you can. The dub is garbage, and I NEVER say that about dubs.)

          • FitzpatrickPhillips

Yes I never watch any yugioh dubbed after Dual Monsters. I love dubs but they absolutely butcher Yugioh. You should have seen my face when I saw how gruesome 5D’s was in Japanese and that the shadow realm wasn’t real. My life was a lie!

I could never just read synopses. IMO I have to be watching it to experience everything with the characters. Reading the synopses feels like cheating, haha. Maybe I’ll pick it up one day. If anything I have cute girls, tiny skirts and a great soundtrack to look forward to.

          • YES. The soundtrack. 8D

My only issue with the soundtrack is that OPs 5 and 6 are kinda…lackluster, compared with the previous ones. The corresponding EDs aren’t bad, though.

          • Man speak for yourself, I adore Dual-ism of Mirror and Wonder Wings.

Wonder Wings is very retro-ish sounding (in terms of how older anime openings USED to sound), and I adore it. Sadly, I have noticed it’s not super popular among those who hear it the first time.

But really overall the opening/endings have been pretty excellent (and really I sorta adore almost all of the franchise’s open/end choices).

          • Given the recent ending video, it looks like she’s at least hinted to be dueling again this season, so there you go.

Mostly, she’s very genuine moral support for Yuma and is probably the most important character in Yuma’s gang of friends.

      • Herok♞

Going by sheer numbers 5Ds only has 9 games
        GX has 12 games
        Original has over 20 games

6 of the 5Ds games were carryovers from GX(aka they didn’t terminate the series) so the series only had 3 unique games really. and it is a weird spot to be in because in 2011 Zexal had started but they still needed to finish up the 5Ds stuff in game. Personally I believe Zexal has the best story after all things get really interesting after the point you dropped it and the characters I personally like more after all I feel everyone else was pretty op from the beginning, while Yuma actually grows significantly as a duelist and you can see the difference from ep1 to the current duel he is in. but you have an opinion and I respect that, just know that Zexal isn’t garbage.

        • Dark Zerato

If we talk about each series length, original >> GX > 5D. So it’s normal that original has the most game. Zexal is not garbage, but it is worse than the others, both the anime and cards.

          • Herok♞

I like XYZ as a mechinic and they are basically how I always wanted fusion to work(give or take the overlays) Also I would argue Zexal is better on a few different levels like I already said you can see reasonable growth with the characters.

Zexal dropped the series popularity really hard :/. the complains about the numbers card and how broken yu gi oh have gotten doesn’t help either. ):
I for one Like the original series, DM and 5D’s, i couldn’t get into Zexal. I will still watch the japanese version when the series ends btw, since my country will only get 5DS next year and I heard that the west got screwed because 5DS is incomplete just like GX

      • Carlos Luis Ayala

Yup they just stopped it probably cause of that Funimation 4Kids scandle I loved it just like the original we needba Vita game.

        • Most likely, we won’t, sadly. Unless if the Vita picks up some severe sales in Japan.

That’s why we’re basically getting Tag Force 3DS.

      • Vesperion

5D’s was amazing. I don’t really care for Zexal, but i would pick this up to get my Yugioh fix

      • We didn’t just get screwed on 5D’s.

They literally /changed the ending/ in order to cut it off early. At least with GX if they wanted to sub the last season, they could reasonably do so.

      • John Diamond

        number freaking 11: big eye.
        elemental dragons.

        thanks konami

what? big eye? elementa dragons? never head of it :v
edit: oh yeah! this is starting to happen alot too http://forum.duelingnetwork.com/index.php?/topic/75838-the-end-of-yu-gi-oh/

          • John Diamond

elemental dragons make it extremely easy to summon rank 7 xyz’s
Big eye let’s you steal up to 2 of your opponent’s monsters (it’s like a beefed up change of heart)
Dragosac let’s you destroy as many cards as possible and it can’t be destroyed as long as there are tokens on the field

          • Ni ~UNREAL BLACK THINGS~

I was beign sarcastic @[email protected]

          • John Diamond

i swear down if you’re sarcastic with me again i’ll find u and fight u in real life in a fight so grand the police and people around us will quiver, mystified by our performance of grandeur

          • knightr

One of the things I hate most about the yugioh metagame is that most people are pretty much using the exact same deck&cards. There are thousands of cards and hundreds of archtypes but most people choose the most overused archtypes and broken cards that aren’t banned yet.

          • John Diamond

only good thing they’ve done so far is ban heavy storm, solemn judgement and monster reborn. the only issue now is that if they were to ban/limit a lot of cards it’ll cripple too many decks.
but don’t worry they’ll ban all the op cards later like they did with elemental hero stratos

          • knightr

i dont play that much anymore but i have some friends who buy/trade/sell rare cards as a side hobby(they make a little profit off of it) but from what I’ve heard from them, cards are really expensive and it hard to believe that it’s actually targeted for “kids”.

most people who play/trade cards are always looking at the new seasons banlist and depending on it cards either get cheaper or more expensive, just like sangan and tour lady/wind-ups

      • knightr

yeah, before I used to think the synchro’s were a horrible and broken power creep to the game but when the exceeds and numbers came in, it jumped the shark…

5Ds is my favorite spin-offs so far, I just watched the subbed version online when it had the edited ending here. But after a while you just get tired of the show and realize it’s just a big commercial for advertising cards and booster packs..

I just bought Tag Force 6 last month because i started to think that Zexal wouldn’t get a game lol.
still i’ll need to wait for the localized version of this one. But i don’t know if i’m going to buy this one…I couldn’t get into Zexal

  • I would really like for this be localised. I really love the series. Kattobingu da ore!

  • refrain

For those who dropped or wouldn’t watch Zexal in the first haft of it. I think you should give it a chance. It got seriously better after that. The story is good, much better than GX and some part of 5D’s IMO. Vector is a nice villian. Also Shark (Ryoga) back story is so good. Yuma got much better and less annoying than the beginning. Well, just my oppinion but I think you guys should try it again if you have time. It’s not bad as some said. I even looking for new episode every week now.

    • I agree with this. The people who still say that Zexal is terrible at this point didn’t bother to keep up with what’s happened, even if it’s just through summaries. The ONLY thing I will give is that the /dueling/ aspects of the series aren’t really good, and it’s more now a vehicle to move forward the progression of the story– which, to be honest, given how every series ends up having this downward spiral from legitimacy to “what the hell, why does that kinda card exist”, I sorta prefer being able to go into the series with the knowledge that the card game is there for conflict, not for legitimate dueling.

I’d really go as far as to say that Zexal’s had the most consistent plot so far of all of the series, to the point of foreshadowing things far into the early stages of the series. Also, pretty minimal “useless” episodes. Even the ones you’d figure are filler, especially recently, usually try to find some way to fit plot progression into them.

If people are really not liking the first episodes, I’d suggest getting in at episode 10, since that’s where the series starts getting into more dramatic material after taking care of the character introductions, and 13 is around where things get serious with Kaito/Kite’s introduction.

    • jugss

I like it though I remember hating the main guy.

  • Smooosher than ever

Ah, I was just talking about this game yesterday. :D
Really hope they choose to localize it. I need my offline YGO fix asap.

But to be honest, I’m not a big fan of those XYZ cards, or whatever they are called. I haven’t seen the show yet, but I’ve played on DevPro and some of those cards were just ridiculous. :|

  • I seriously, seriously hope this comes out in the West.

You guys have no idea how much I’ve wanted a recent updated game, and I’ve been literally waiting since a bit after Zexal started for them to announce a Zexal game.

The Yu-Gi-Oh games tend to be my best route for familiarizing myself with the cards (since there’s so many) and gaining confidence in my deck-building and playstyle, so I’ve been severely lacking when it comes to that.

So please, please Konami. Please say you’ll bring this over.

As a note, if people remember the Tag Force games: This is basically Tag Force on the 3DS. It will even have the Red Hat Guy/Konami-kun protagonist once more. So really if that doesn’t convince you that this game needs to exist over here after 6 got skipped for us, I dunno what to tell you.

    • refrain

Well, the only thing It’s lacking is the 3D model of character. I loved that, and there’re even voice over in the jap version. Well, still better than nothing. I hope it has voice at least

      • In Japan, it’ll probably have some voice clips.

        In America? Aahahahaa probably not. ;;

  • subsamuel01

The original Yu Gi Oh with Yu gi Moto was the best, enough said.

  • Learii

bring to the west konami come on

  • Chef Chef

still waiting for yu-gi-oh tag force 6….
