Cyberpunk RPG Reborn Plans To Relaunch Kickstarter Campaign In November

imageGames hoping to get funding through Kickstarter are having a rough time. Citizens of Earth, a comedic JRPG inspired by Earthbound from the makers of Waveform, didn’t reach its funding goal. That was a bummer because the demo was solid and the game was fairly far along in its development cycle.

Elemental-Labs just canceled their Kickstarter campaign for the Reborn after securing over $50,000 from backers with a plan of relaunching it in November. Reborn is a cyberpunk action RPG that fuses Japanese mythology into it planned for PS3, PS4, and PC. The redux campaign will show a behind the scenes motion capture session, a glimpse of gameplay (most of what we’ve seen is concept art), and restructured rewards.

they got a lot of feedback from backers. i was there as well. way too many KSEs. hopefully they’ll shift those around. the main issue i’m having with lots of kickstarters are the digital rewards that would be better as physical and vice versa [concept artbooks and soundtracks] and so much… ‘swag’ plushies and special sprites everywhere. ugh

I personally think they need to look at more platforms. The kind of money they were asking for and just listing pc and a next gen console and the Vita just doesn’t interest a lot of people. I feel the ps3 at the minimum should of also have been on the list, possibly the Wii U.

PS3 was on the list, Wii U was a distant stretch goal.

the initial goal was PS4, PS3, & PC

The main reason they decided to re-launch was because most of their support was coming from the Nintendo crowd who wanted the seemingly impossible Wii U stretch goal and the people they were aiming for on Playstation and PC weren’t supporting the game.

Will they start over with a full 30 days?

I think their biggest two issues were no gameplay shown yet and at the same time asking a considerable high minimum price for kickstarter standards. For $20 I would have backed surely; for $30 I was waiting much more info.

I would wait with Re-launching the Kickstarter until January since, PS4 and Xbox 180 is releasing in November and that would mean a lot of ppl wallet (Mine included) is empty and December have Christmas to eat away your money + the few games releasing their.
