Xseed Discounts Unchained Blades, Corpse Party And Wizardry Games

Xseed have dropped the price of a few of their games in North America. On the Nintendo eShop for 3DS and PlayStation Network for PSP, Unchained Blades is now available $20 (instead of $30).

On PSN for the PlayStation 3, Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls has dropped to $10 (from $15), while Way of the Samurai has dropped to $30 (from $40). Finally, on Vita, Sumioni is now available for $10 (down from $15).

Meanwhile, there’s also a temporary discount sale running on PSN for PSP, for Corpse Party and Corpse Party: Book of Shadows. Both games will be available for $10 each (down from $20 each) until November 4th.

  • Unchained Blades is discounted! Awesome, finally! I can get it and add to my First Person Dungeon Crawler collection! Wizardry and Sumiomi also look very appealing. Glad to see this discount!

  • RazeXI

Out of curiosity how is unchained blades? it looks interesting but I’m already playing Etrian Odyssey IV.

    • TheExile285

Story is interesting. Gameplay is hard

    • Ereek

Pretty easy for a dungeon crawler, nothing particularly brutal and I’d consider it a good intro to the genre. Interesting ideas in that it’s definitely the most story-based crawler I’ve played.

However, the monster/Unchain system is pretty dumb.

  • Learii

oh man halloween special mahaha corpse party btw unchained blade is a base turn or action rpg?

    • DyLaN

      Turn based dungeon crawler.

      • Learii

        oh thx

  • TheExile285

Might have to pick up Corpse Party 1

  • I thought Corpse Party had a physical release, but I couldn’t find it on Amazon. Since it’s a digital only title I’ll definitely be picking the original Friday. I’d bite on both but if I don’t like the first then I don’t want to have spend an extra $10. I’m hoping I regret not buying both though! (means I enjoyed the first one,)

  • LunarKnite

Ah, yes, Unchained Blades. Gives me a reason to finally pick this up after forgetting about it.

  • Nyandroid

Yes! I was hoping for this! Already had a $20 psn card waiting for Corpse Party! But Unchained Blades too? I’ll have to get another one! ~>w>

  • DivinePhoenix69

And i just bought Corpse Party about a week ago too:/. Ah well atleast i’ll be able to get Book Of Shadows for a discounted price.

    • OlimacFTW

I know that feeling bro. It happened to me too, at the very same week last year.

    • Manny Being Manny

Just know for the future that Sony always does Halloween sales, so you should never buy horror games in early October.

    tits fc discount where

    • Barrylocke89

I imagine that any TiTs discounts are going to be closer to when TiTs SC comes out. After all, we still haven’t gotten the Steam edition of FC yet.

  • Barrylocke89

I waited a long time on Unchained Blades because I said I was going to get the 3DS version over the PSP version. But a year later with no 3DS still and a price drop, I have to ask.

Are the additions to the 3DS version worth waiting until I one day get a 3DS? or should I just get the PSP version?

Also, Corpse Party discount is great news. Loved the first, but I didn’t get around to getting the second, especially after hearing more mixed reviews on it. I may check it out now.

    • TheExile285

From what I’ve read, the PSP and 3DS version are identical content wise. The only perk with 3DS version is that the map is display on the bottom screen.

      I don’t think it supports 3D on the 3DS but I can’t confirm.

    • Aristides

If you have a Vita get it for PSP, it looks great.

      • Barrylocke89

No Vita, only a DS and PSP. I imagine the PSP version looks great because it’s on the Vita, and the psp version on a PSP looks the same as the 3ds version?

        • Aristides

Yeah, the game isn’t exactly state of the art in terms of graphics. A 3DSXL screen might look better than a PSP screen but that’s about it, no graphical change.

  • pimpalicious

The DLC for Wizardry and WotS has also been discounted a bit.

  • leingod

I’ve been on the fence about Corpse Party for a while. Totally getting it now, same goes for Way of the Samurai :D

And… is Unchained Blades any good?

    • Lynx

Corpse: Play with headphones if you have any. It adds massively to the immersion. I played at night too with mine.

In case you get the second one with it, Book Of Shadows, keep in mind it’s relatively different, in terms of both content and gameplay. Think a bunch of short stories that tie into the first game.

UB: It’s decent. It’s relatively easy aside from the initial story segments where they reset your lead character (different for each segment) to level 1. The monster gimmick becomes kinda pointless once you get party members. I thought the story was neat though.

      • leingod

        Thank you kindly.

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

Like Lynx mentioned Corpse Party practically REQUIRES headphones since a lot of the scares are due to the binaural sound (Check out binaural recordings in YouTube and then picture that in the context of a horror game). The non-stop gore and creepy images help though…

  • SetzerGabbiani

I like Unchained Blades even with its faults. It’s grindy (have to start at level 1 for each initial story segment), the monsters you unchain are pretty much useless most of the time, and the difficulty scaling is intense in certain areas areas, but it has a certain charm, and I like the skill map..it’s reminiscent of Final Fantasy X’s

  • klkAlexar

I bought UB a few weeks back. I haven’t really played it since RF4 has kept me pretty busy so I wish I had waited.

  • DyLaN

………..I can’t help but wonder will we get the UB sequel in the future.

    Cool discount though.

  • Raltrios

I’ve been meaning to grab Unchained Blades since I heard about it, but that delay of release made me forget about it. Not only is this a reminder, but a wallet-saver.
Though this price drop does make me worry about how well it’s been selling…does this mean we might not get the sequel?

  • Exkaiser

I really recommend Way of the Samurai 4. Excellent game with a lot of interesting design choices. Flawed, certainly, but that’s what makes it so interesting.
