Earth Defense Force 2025 Coming West In February (Crazy Collaborations Included)

By Ishaan . October 29, 2013 . 9:00am

Earth Defense Force 2025 is being released in North America and Europe in February 2014, D3 Publisher have confirmed. Pre-ordering the game at GameStop will allow one to avail a special “Air Raider” weapon pack free of cost.

The Air Raider pack will include two weapons:

  • Pure Decoy Launcher (Setsu) — a weapon that distracts the enemy by discharging a large balloon that takes the shape of an attractive female, but the enemies will meet their fate when the balloon unexpectedly self destructs, destroying everything in its vicinity.

  • The BMO3 Vegalta Gold — a limited edition, gold-coated model that will reflect radar waves and has a combat burner to throw flames. Players will also be able to take flight for short periods of time with it equipped.

More weapons packs will be released in the future as DLC. Additionally, D3 have confirmed that other DLC that was released in Japan will be made available in the west as well, including the Dream C Club collaboration. You can read more about some of the DLC in D3’s release date announcement over at the PlayStation Blog.

Oh my god, we’re getting THAT DLC. That may just make me buy this. XD

  • Xaltmas

Almost makes me more optimistic about Onechanbara being localized.

  • SlickRoach

    Dem decoys~

Dream C is so popular. Why? What’s the appeal besides cute girls?
(Honest question. I’ve never tried the games)

    • andref

      Why would that attract bugs

      • fyi1191

        And why not? It’s interesting.

        • andref

This isn’t beauty and the bug

      • ZnTxn

If the doujins I’ve read are any indication, it just happens.
Alongside hating yourself for reading them.

        • andref

Note to self, avoid those doujins

        • ShadowDivz

If the doujins I’VE read are any indication, it’s usually because human women have universal compatibility and are needed to repopulate X species.

    • doubleO7

I think that is supposed to be the appeal. Dating/girlfriend simulators are quite popular in Japan.

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

Yeah but there are countless amounts of them. Takes more than cute girls/dating simulator functions to become insanely popular. Dream C must have some draw to it.

        • MXC

I haven’t played them but from what I remember that separates them from other sims is that you fight for the girls. The girls don’t initially like you that way and you’re actually just a client to them and they are your hostess. To hook them is the same as others though but according to a friend who has played it is harder to get a good ending than others. So maybe it’s that.

          • FitzpatrickPhillips

Hmm..maybe thats it. Perhaps I’ll try one of them eventually.

          • ShadowDivz

Judging from what MXC just said, i guess it’s the challenge.

    • Juuu

Dream C also banks on the appeal of Idolmaster by having the girls dance and sing [and the models are the only ones who even come close to Idolmaster’s, in my opinion]. Also, a large part of it may be the really huge roster of girls–there’s an archetype for everyone in there somewhere, and it hits a wide appeal.

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

I-Is there a delicious Yandere girl?

        • Juuu

While I haven’t chosen her yet, I know Mari has the nickname “Bloody Marilyn” so….Maybe?

  • Nice, but still want Onceechanbara Z Kagura. Please D3 make it happen :3

    • I was surprised it wasn’t picked up by the NA branch when it was first released on the 360. It’s not a gangbuster seller like the Ben 10 games for them, but it’s a D3 staple.

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

Looks cool! I might have to preorder it!

  • One of the very few shooters that matter to me. Thank you D3!

  • ShadowDivz

I’ve been interested in this series for a long. So hearing it’s coming to PS3(and in physical format!) Guess it’s time to jump in!

Plus, i FUCKING HATE insects and spiders in general. So a game where i get to shoot a bunch of them AND be a hero(that isn’t on iphone) is a godsend to me.

  • This is going to be the first game I’ve pre-ordered from GS in over 5 years. Only EDF (and Dream C Club) can make me do that!

  • Slayven19

Guess I’ll be buying this when it hits, seems interesting.

  • leingod

So bugs have the hots for chibi girls?
