Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl Will Explore Europe In 2014

By Ishaan . October 30, 2013 . 9:00am

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is headed to Europe, NIS America have announced. The game will be released at some point in 2014.

Untold is the latest in Atlus’ dungeon-crawling series and the game now has a story mode with fixed characters that have actual personalities. If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, you can always opt for Classic Mode, which plays like the older games.

You can read our playtest for Etrian Odyssey Untold here.

NISA is killing it. I hope all their upcoming localizations do very well.

They truly are on a roll. Along with Aksys and XSEED, Japanese Gaming in the West is really flourishing!

Dat E.X Troopers avatar. It may not be a unique piece of artwork, but I can’t even stop mentioning how much I love that game. >_>

On topic, I’m really glad that a surprisingly high amount of games are still getting localised. Ace Attorney 5 being digital outside Japan is upsetting, but Yumi’s Odd Odyssey (Umihara Kawase), Project X Zone, Etrian Odyssey 4 and Untold (which never released 2 or 3 in Europe) and of course Senran Kagura. It’s a good time to love Japanese games…

I wish E.X. Troopers was this lucky.

I like you. I like you a lot. Have more artwork. If you like, we can share PSN ID’s if you play it on PS3. I am still desperately looking for some friends to play this game in Multiplayer. Some VR Challenges are nearly impossible to do alone! :)

My ID is Enad7. Feel free to add me ^^

It’s really sad with this game. First you have the whole MML3 fiasco and then your fans boycott the next game that Capcom was planning on releasing. And that was sadly this game. To add more salt to the injury, Svensson the genius explains why EXT never has a chance of getting localized:
“Hurr this game uses a very unique style of fonts and narration which makes it unable to properly localize this game. For instance during some scenes you can see japanese Kana floating on the screen. Programming that to English is very difficult.” (Meanwhile, Valkria Chronicles and JoJo:ASB do have the same thing and still get localized). Sorry for the rant, just had to let out some steam here.

(I freaking love the artwork in this game :D)

I LOVED E.X Troopers, it bugs me how underrated and poorly it sold. The game felt so Capcom-y it was awesome: the arcade soundtrack, the shmup experience, and variety in weaponry was so great.

          • Altin

You are speaking just what I am thinking too. Oh my god, that soundtrack is so beautiful. I wish they would’ve added more songs to the Bounded Soundtrack. This one is still blowing me away so good! :D

Before I derail this thread, I am glad that we are going to get more of these games, especially dungeon crawlers. Can’t wait to play Demon Gaze either!

if you want to add me for a game, my psn is sonicboom4321

            I will add you! :D

Unfortunately, I only play the 3DS version and my PS3 is dead so I’m unlikely to get the PS3 version for a while or play it. Maybe I’ll keep your PSN ID on hand for if I get it sooner than later. What is the source for your picture?

Through a lot of work, I managed to finish all three E.X Missions alone (meaning no A.I partners, though I did that first), it was a lot of work thinking about what weapons work and how I can avoid EVERY enemy wanting me dead or to take over a flag.

Just in case, neither of you including ReidHershel heard of the thread, we can apparently ask for it on Capcom Unity to get localised even if I don’t expect anything to happen (given how Ace Attorney has done along with Megaman Legends 3 even if it isn’t done), it’s worth a shot. I have the Siliconera thread about Capcom’s change of heart below along with the thread where a lot of us are asking for the game to get localised.

Argh, what a shame. But yes, if you ever get the chance to play it on PS3, just let me know :) I found it on Twitter. Capcom does have an account for E.X. Troopers. There are also many other lovely pictures that you can save from there.

I still need to work on my dodging. Some enemies and missions are just downright brutal, but I still need to upgrade many of my weapons, so I can relate to you on that matter.

Man, I can remember this article and I naively skipped it due to my frustration towards them. Might be worth to create an account for this then. Thanks for the tip mate!

On a totally unrelated note your comment made me go listen to “killin’ it” by the Polar Bear Club which is awesome btw.

  • Go2hell66

have i told NISA how much i love them?

    • landlock

Since NISA might have difficulty finding games for America. I wonder if there European publishing could become even more important in the future.

  • landlock

Even though it was leaked a while ago, they also confirmed Ys (Vita) today for Europe as well.

  • AndreasStalin

Yes, yes and YES! Thanks NISA. I’m in love with this series.

  • James Williams

Oh man i’m so happy at how quick Europe’s now getting titles!

  • Arcana Wiz

Wish success to them, hard games arent usual these days, so i’m glad that EO ip is having success.
