Hori brings word that it is re-releasing its popular Dragon Quest X-themed slim keyboards in both Blue Slime (3,980 yen or $40) and Metal Slime (4,980 or $50) versions, which were sold out last year on release.

What’s so special? All the function keys have been replaced by slimes, alongside a few additional special buttons and re-branded keys to keep it in the Dragon Quest theme.

As part of the deal, you’ll also get a special item in the expansion Dragon Quest X: The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally as well as 100 casino coins to wager with. Since they’re slim keys, they’re not different because of mechanical switches where color might matter more. These go on sale on the 5th of December, the same day as the expansion and are compatible with the Wii, Wii U and PC versions of the game.

This is making me crave some DQ like crazy. No sign of 7 or 10 in english and 9 came out a million years ago….

    • Kaetsu

3 months ago I beat 9 for the fourth time. I’m desperate for a new DQ!

    • yomachaser

Seven came out in english, I know this because I had it in my youth.

      • Ereek

I’m pretty sure he’s referring to the 3DS remake of 7.

        • yomachaser

          Whoops

      • Malon

I read “I had it in my mouth” I was like “wtf”.

  • Kaetsu

DRAGON QUEST X COME TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • Ereek

    Oh hey, I remember these.

They’re cute, but the keys are still too low for my tastes.

  • Dagobert

Das Keyboard will always be better and look better than any other keyboard.

  • TheAquacharger

I’d buy this if it was a spring keyboard.

  • Barrylocke89

I still think those slime function buttons look less than practical. I’d love to have the blue one though.

  • KuroNathan

the metal slime keyboard looks nice, plus its worth more exp!

    • Wappuli

I have been using it since release and I like it.

  • d3v

Disappointed that they’re not mechanical. Any gaming themed keyboard needs to be mechanical.

That’s neat. I’m not a DQ (Dragon Quest, not Dairy Queen. I love Dairy Queen. In fact, I think I’m going to get some after this) person, but I’m sure the fans will be all over this.

Awesome Keyboard. Would buy the Metal Slime one.

  • SuperSailorV

Somebody pleeeeaaase point me in the right direction to get one of these. Is PlayAsia my only option?

  • BizarreJelly

You couldn’t be anymore of an utter d-bag if you tried could you? Poor thing.

  • Tatsuya Fabre

Ugh, sorry. Just getting kinda tired of seeing all these localization requests in every article.

  • BizarreJelly

It’s cool. It’ll always be the case though. Believe me, we would all love to have the time, patience and brain capacity to learn another language but it’s just not possible for some people. Not to mention importing can be very costly.

Just ignore the comments :P it’s a little bit of harmless steam blowing.
