GTAV, Pokémon And Batman: Arkham Origins Were Among October’s Best-Sellers

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y launched in the U.S. last month, selling a combined total of 1.7 million copies. Since the two games are tracked separately, neither one made it onto the #1 spot on the software sales chart for October. That privilege went, once again, to Grand Theft Auto V.

 

Thanks to these strong titles, as well as others like Batman: Arkham Origins, videogame retail sales in the U.S. increased by 5% over October 2012,  the NPD Group reports.  The top-10 best-selling games in October were:

Meanwhile, on the hardware front, the Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling videogame platform for the month, moving 452,000 units. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 regained its monthly lead over the PlayStation 3, after PS3 sales saw a boost in October due to an exclusive Grand Theft Auto V bundle.
