Original Sisters Aya And Saki Return As Oneechanbara Z: Kagura DLC

By Eugene . November 18, 2013 . 2:27pm

Did you really expect them to just kinda hang around in a retirement home when there’s good ol’ zombies to be a’killin’? The original sisters Aya and Saki from the first Onechanbara game are back as completely playable characters for Onechanbara Z: Kagura with NoNoNo! in the latest batch of downloadable content.

You’ll be able to play them in story, mission and practice modes as well—although, whether this affects how conversations occur isn’t known.

The pack goes for 900 yen ($9) and alongside the two girls you’ll also get a few additional pieces of clothing – such as Aya’s cowboy hat that you can then put on Kagura instead, as well as 10 new achievement trophies. You’ll be able to buy this from November 21st.

Are you fucking kidding me, right? They are DLC exclusive or we can unlock them through game progression? If they are DLC only this is pretty stupid since that the two were “DLCs” in the 360 version (you payed 800 MS points to download a 800 kb archive to unlock the on disk content).
Probably they are going to have the same downgraded gameplay with no Vamp Skills

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

WHY do you need to pay for them?! Urghhh
I was fully expecting them to be unlockable when you beat it with Kagura and Saya.

The game has like NO content unless you fork over tons of cash.

if they’re not unlockable through in-game content. i’ll just skip this one and see if i can play the one in the psp again

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

I was so unbelievably hyped for this game, got it day one and beat it in 2 days. Absolutely nothing unlocks besides hard mode and pallet swap outfits. Everything else is paid DLC.

        Its such a disappointment…

lol. i’m going to skip it then. I was expecting to grab this version because I thought that Aya and Saki were unlockable doing missions. well whatever…I’ll just grab adn play the Special while i rest for more Aragami hunting (the game has a shitty combat system but have all the 6 differents characters and each one with two styles of combat)

          • Hector Velar

ok so maybe game comes out $59.99 and DLC is possibly $40 about(guesstimating)…just wait a week till game drops to 20$ and then get the DLC for as much as it would have cost to buy the game a week before. the good thing about this game is that, you know it will price drop like the first one did fast.

          • Ni ~UNREAL BLACK THINGS~

well I could indeed do that but…I don’t support games with in-game locked DLC. I’ll wait and see if is the same cheap tactic of the 360 version or not

          • Hector Velar

yeah it is all about perspective.

  • With all the DLC announced for the game, I want to know if it’s going to leave Japan anytime soon.

  • British_Otaku

I was a bit more curious now that I have a PS3 again, but I guess I may as well pick up the old Wii installment at GAME for a fiver.

I hope Attack on Titan and One Piece Unlimited World RED don’t turn out like this in a month’s time… >_> I know that Gaist Crusher is pretty set on physical DLC, so it seems a good deal safer.

    • CirnoTheStrongest

The Wii one is pretty bad. I would not suggest it.

      • British_Otaku

Between paying a fiver for a game localised and easy to find and paying much more to reward a game which is hiding standard content. I will go for the former every time. >_>

I would go for another installment, but I don’t have any of the other platforms so it will have to do. >_>

        • CirnoTheStrongest

Well, if that’s your only choice, then I guess there’s not much else you could do.

  • My copy just shipped. So EXCITE!

  • Nirun Rangraengjit

That’s great but… I kinda like the new girls more

  • fairysun

Wait, so the default characters are not Aya and Saki?
Lol, I thought Kagura was Aya new model.

    Oh well.

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Yeah I thought that too. Kagura and Saya are different characters. Kagura and Aya bump heads pretty much the whole game – its kind of funny.

  • Linhua

… pardon my ignorance, but… is this game out for digital download on the Japanese Playstation Store…?

… I heard some talk about it releasing there on the 21st as well… but i’m not sure how many grains of salt I should be taking with that.
