Xbox One Launch Title Deals: Ryse, Forza 5, & Dead Rising 3

By Viet Do . November 20, 2013 . 10:01pm

This Friday, November 22nd Xbox One will make its debut. While the console is sold out everywhere (even at Microsoft Store online),  all available Xbox One games looks to be fully stocked. There’s currently no price cuts on the launch titles, but there is an interesting incentive from the Microsoft Store: pre-ordering any of the “Day One Edition” titles listed below and you’ll get $10 in Xbox Gift Card digital code as an extra bonus (essentially $10 for your Xbox account to spend).

Titles that qualify includes Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, and Dead Rising 3. Each of these comes in “Day One Edition” – which gets extra in-game content/items. As an example, Ryse: Son of Rome Day One Edition will get a special gladiator co-op multiplayer map, Ruins. In this map you’ll deal with hordes of barbarians in an ancient temple with friends (yay?).  As long as one of you have the Day One Edition, you’ll be able to invite others who might only have the standard edition.  Details on the extras are linked below.

    “Day One Edition”

    • Its weird because all of a sudden “Day One” DLC and similar things are a “perk” and you should grab it day one or you’ll miss out (except when its offer as a DLC to buy later or will be bundled in the GOTY).

Ah well. But it beats buying on the 2nd day and getting squat from it. Ryse reviews appears to be embargoed though so if anyone is on the fence they’re better off waiting for reviews.

Seriously? Man, I wonder what they’re going to be like… having played a demo, I found the only notable things in that game to be that wounds on the players and enemies bodies directly corresponded with where the weapons hit them. Wonder if it’s gonna be mediocre, high or low…

The sad thing is it isn’t even “Day 1” because that would imply you can get the DLC from the store for free on the first day… that’s not the case. If the ‘Day 1’ editions sell out, you have to buy the regular edition. At the Target I went to this morning, I got the last copy of ‘Day 1’ editions for Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5. Other people would need to buy the other editions that don’t have the included DLC.

  • Ewwwwww. Xbone. XD

So from reading Kotaku’s review it seems Dead Rising 3 is nothing like Dead Rising 1. Not sure how I’ll like that because Dead Rising 1 was an awesome game and the sequel just wasn’t the same. Not sure what made Dead Rising 1 amazing for me but the second one just wasn’t as good, so I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about the 3rd one.

Either way I’m getting the Xbox One just to add to my collection. It’ll probably collect dust like my Wii and 360 right now.

The game is not too good with its huge frame drops even going as low as 10fps, which is ridiculous for a “next-gen.”

A few websites are giving RYSE lame reviews and cursing at the quick time events after every other kill.

I snagged a “Day One” edition of Dead Rising 3. I’m a bit disappointed that it doesn’t have a reversible cover. The silver “Day One” cover is pretty ugly compared to the regular day two cover, but it does come with some extra content.
