Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Pre-Order Deal at Newegg

By Viet Do . November 23, 2013 . 11:00am

Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was confirmed to be released for the PS Vita on February 11th, 2014 earlier this month. This week NewEgg has a small promo code knocking five bucks off the $39.99 MSRP. While there is still plenty of time until its launch date, it should be noted that preorder deals are quite rare on PS Vita games and this title may hold its value a few months post launch (given they only print so many copies of localized action/visual novel Japanese games).

The deal works for US residents only. For those without a PS Vita, this upcoming Black Friday may be the time to finally pick a unit up as prices are falling significantly. PS Vita have been as cheap as $159.99 as recently as two weeks ago at RadioShack (yup they still exist).  We’ve got confirmed pricing that new-in-box PS Vita will be priced at $149.99 with free ship at eBay deals during Black Friday. No word on stock level or the specific retailer selling it though. This deal will be live midnight November 29, so set your alarm clock?

Nice deal for US gamers but I’ll be spending the extra 10$ to get the limited edition from the NISA store.

    • urbanscholar

I hear that I need that masafumi takada OST in my life

      • Juan Andrés Valencia

Wait, it’s the same composer as Killer7 and No More Heroes.

        • urbanscholar

          hell yeah

Exactly i always go for the Limited Edition (^_^)

  • Already preordered the limited edition… First time I’ve done so, but totally worth it for Dangan Ronpa. For anyone who enjoys games like Phoenix Wright or 999, you’ll definitely want to check this one out. I’ll also suggest it to anyone looking for a unique video game experience in general though. Such a crazy story, and a really memorable cast of characters.

  • TheExile285

I should look at Newegg more. They seem to have nice deals.

    I have the LE pre-ordered from NISA’s website though…

    • revenent hell

See, im finicky. I’d rather have the LE over the regular version even if it is cheaper

  • Jontaku

Nice, Can anyone tell me if NISA is good for importing from?

    • Wappuli

Yes, NISA is really good for importing.

      • Jontaku

Sweet. Looks like I’ll be ordering Dangan ronpa.

  • Saraneth

This is releasing just a few days after Bravely Default. I will have to wait a little while before buying it.

    • TheExile285

Why not just pay both off in advance?

      • Saraneth

I don’t like buying a game if I’m not going to be able to play it for a long time because the price could drop in the meantime or I might just not get around to playing it, especially if there’s a possibility that another game will be coming out while I’m still playing the first game. For example, in this case FFXIII-3 is coming out on February 11th, on the same day as this, and who knows when Tales of Xillia 2, Demon Gaze, and Conception II are coming out? The only game I’m sure I’ll want in that time frame is Bravely Default, so I will preorder that and wait for reviews for the other games. Otherwise I’d end up buying a bunch of games at full price and never get around to playing them.

  • SerendipityX

    What about the WiiU? *sadface*

    • Neppygear

      What about it?

      • TheExile285

She wants a cheap Wii U deal

  • I know this has nothing to do with Danganronpa but I saw the last part at the end of the article and was wondering if you could keep an eye out on deals on Fire Emblem Awakening or Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate?

  • Detrimont

yet i’m still waiting for it to show up on ANY NZ game store
i would preorder the special edition, but it’s the game price + $50 for shipping…. why does nz have to be so far from everywhere

  • nonscpo

Hmm $35 for the game or should I spend the extra $15 for the bonus content, what should I do?

  • nonscpo

Save $5 for the game or spend the extra $10 for the bonus content…hmm not sure what to do?

  • A whole 5 dollars?! Wow, with all of that money saved, I can buy two copies! /sarcasm

    • Cazar

Any amount off of a preorder is a good deal.

  • personablaze

I got me the LE from NISA’s website~

Now I just gotta wait and forget this game exists until then so the hype doesn’t kill me xD.

  • Earthjolly

SO is this like a very dark phoenix wright type game?

  • Ladius

Here’s the link to NISA’s limited edition (a NISA Store exclusive at 49$), just in case someone unfamiliar with this publisher missed it: http://store.nisamerica.com/Games/Danganronpa-Trigger-Happy-Havoc-Premium-Edition

I hope this game is a success for them, so that they can localized its sequel and give a chance to other visual novels. NIS’ own Special Report Division is still waiting for a localization, after all.

    • DyLaN

While I would like NISA to localize SRD they stated tht they don’t intend to do it sinceit doesn’t have enough gameplay elements in it.

  • GameWinner

Still deciding if I should continue to stick with my digital rule for Vita or by LE. I have about 3 months left…

  • Dagobert

I pre-ordered the limited edition from the NIS site. Don’t know what this game is about, never heard of it before but I pre-ordered it anyways. I hope I don’t regret it.

    • DyLaN

Its a VN with some minigame thrown in. You play as Makoto Naegi who got into Hope academy for various talented student by chance. But the school is hijacked by Monokuma who claim tht he the school new principal. The cast are trapped in the school and the only way to “graduate” is to murder a student.

  • Earthjolly

So what exactly is this game?
