Boa Hancock, Mihawk And Law Are Bosses In One Piece Unlimited World: RED

While the game has been out for just about a week now in Japan, some of you may still be waiting anxiously for your copy of One Piece Unlimited World: Red to arrive.

Fret not! To tide me us over Namco Bandai have given us short clips of three more boss fights featuring Trafalgar Law, Dracule Mihawk and… Hang on. Boa Hancock?!? Isn’t she one of the good guys now?

Mihawk looks like he’d actually be pretty easy to take down, being slow and unwieldy with that giant cross-sword of his.

And Trafalgar… Ahh, so that’s what happens when you get your heart switched around… You totally switch characters!

One Piece Unlimited World: Red is out now on Nintendo 3DS.

I just want to know, why i post-game zoro fighting mihawk if this is following the storyline

In short, this isn’t following the storyline at all. It is a true Ganbarion game which goes for fanservice first, ignoring the logistics of who would fight who wear…

      Long answer below.

The storyline of the previous Unlimited games (Adventure and Cruise – both set before the timeskip) was that Luffy comes across a MacGuffin (super duper magical artifact), new island(s) appear with a legendary beast of legend who creates minions from the Straw Hats memories and a mascot character/race who may have some conflict with the beast and Straw Hats.

It is an excuse for the developers so they can let us fight anyone with anyone (Vivi wants the whole crew dead?) without having to go for a story mode which puts a limit on ya or make a fighting game (Ganbarion made two of them for One Piece on the DS, didn’t care about a story there either).

Here with Unlimited World RED, we actually have a characterised antagonist called Red who appears to be from Level 6 and has a shot at fitting into the lore but also chooses to summon pre-time skip versions for quite similar reasons to the above with exceptions where we have met the modern version.

ok, thanks for the explanation, that really clears up my confusion

  • Rayhan PromisedGallery

so… you just switch character without any powered-down effect?

  • TheGameTagerZ

Here’s some bosses I got recorded. There are a couple more. Didn’t bother with anyone who was already in the main story. I’m missing smoker and shanks now.
