Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January, and Square Enix have shared a trailer for the game that shows off its enhanced visuals. Additionally, developer Crystal Dynamics have shared a few interesting details on the development of the game.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was worked on by Crystal in collaboration with United Front Games—the developers of Sleeping Dogs—and Nixxes, who have been a longtime collaborator of Crystal Dynamics’ as well. Executive producer Scot Amos revealed this piece of information via the PlayStation Blog today.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be available on January 28th. Square Enix will be charging the full $60 for the game. And no, this isn’t all United Front Games are working on. They’re also hard at work on a new game in the Sleeping Dogs universe.

I loved both TR and SD SOOOOOO much. Though I have Tomb Raider on Steam with a pretty good gaming laptop (GT680m gfx card), I’d still wanna replay the game to see the changes. I know the Definitive version is pretty much a PC port, but still.

One thing I hope they allow is to turn Tress FX off. It looks nice at times, but it’s random, chaotic, and unnatural MOST of the other times. The basic hair looks better, really. Tress FX makes her hair look too perfect, even when she has gone through so much filth.

Don’t be jealous of TressFX shampoo luxurious shine and shimmering volume…

Hahaha. Blood, sweat, rain, gore, mud, dirt? Not a problem if you use Tress FX products. Your hair will always look like it just came out of a beauty salon.

Another thing was in the graphics performance…. Lara would sometimes look like she just stepped out of the 80′s. Porcupine hair.

Sleeping Dogs was my first real open world GTA-styled game. I have always skipped these games. But PS Plus gave me a chance to play it, and OMG, I fell in love with it so much, I went and bought it on Steam (for the prettier graphics).

i bought the steam version too. with the high resolution texture pack, it looked so pretty :)

Sleeping Dogs was sleeper hit B-)

You know, I remenber that some months ago, I was joking about how since companies wouldn’t be able to use the “HD Re-make on already looking good games” scam this Gen they would beging making “HD Remakes of HD Games”.

As always, Squeenix makes my dreams come true, and Full $60 of a $10 Game on top of that.

    Oh well, “Next Gen baby!”.

While I do get what you’re trying to say, I’m actually holding out for Sony to release TLoU for PS4….

That’s odd, considering it’s just the pc version; Nixxes is the PC developer for CD/SE, So I’m guessing UFG simply ported Nixxes’ build to the ps4/x1.
In fact, Nixxes worked with AMD to get the TressFX tech in their build, so I’m 100% convinced that porting is all that UFG did.
