Here Are This Month’s Club Nintendo Game Rewards

By Ishaan . December 10, 2013 . 3:01pm

This month’s Club Nintendo rewards in the U.S. have been revealed. As always, four games are up for grabs in exchange for Club Nintendo coins, but they aren’t very impressive. The list is as follows:

Mario’s Picross (3DS Virtual Console) – 100 coins

Starship Defense (DSiWare) – 150 coins

Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (Wii U VC) – 150 coins

Balloon Fight (Wii U VC) – 200 coins

All four games will be available through Club Nintendo until January 12th, 2014.

Lost levels and picross? Yes, I am pleased.

  • fireemblembeast

    Implying that they’re usually impressive?

    • idrawrobots

I have gotten several games from these deals.

  • idrawrobots

Is this the first time that Wii U games were on the list?

  • Kaetsu

I’m so glad there finally putting Wii U games as rewards and not just Wii games. Sadly I already have Balloon Fight from when it was 30 cents but I’m looking forward to the Wii U games to come next month.

  • Jirin

I’d enjoy playing Lost Levels with the original NES graphics.

Lost Levels is the polar opposite of Nintendo’s current approach to level design. It’s kind of like playing a fan hack of SMB, only it’s by Nintendo.

    • idrawrobots

It was Demon’s Souls before Demon’s Souls.

  • KingGunblader

Eh, nothing here. At least I got A Link to the Past and Metroid last month.

  • Tyler Beale

Mario 2 LL screenshot? YES PLEASE!!

    “Wii U VC”

    • Kaetsu

It’s available on regular Wii not just the Wii U. No 3DS version though.

      • Tyler Beale

It’s on all 3 consoles, but I was hoping the reward was for the 3DS version – as it’s the only Nintendo console I currently have.

        • What if by the time the new 3DS Update hits, all 3 consoles can share the same Virtual Console game library?

  • AlteisenX

Still at 1000 coins…. Still no hanafuda cards… *sigh*

  • Volray

I’d just like to point out that, for whatever reason, Club Nintendo has The Lost Levels mislabeled. It’s a Wii VC download, not a Wii U download.

  • Dagobert

This year’s Club Nintendo’s rewards have been shitty. I have 1210 points and there’s nothing for me to order besides shitty greeting cards and pen holders. Also has anyone gotten this years platinum member reward yet? I still haven’t received mine.

    • Kaetsu

I think there going to start shipping them this week.

    • hazelnut1112

Only good thing that came out was Dillon.

      • idrawrobots

Starship Defense from q games. Cubello. there have been some great games.

  • Romancer Ecclesia

Does anyone around here enjoy the bonus reward games that Club Nintendo offers? Just wondering.

    • One out of three months they’ll have something good. This year I got Link to the Past, Mario 64, Legend of Zelda, Super Punch-Out and Starfox 64. I think the VC games are overpriced at $5 and $8 so I’m really into this deal.

  • Ooo, Mario’s Picross. I don’t know why, but I can really get into an intense session when playing Picross — sometimes I even miss my stop when I’m commuting. :P

    • I bought Mario’s Picross on the eShop a while ago and even though I did 100% clear it, I must warn you that the d-pad controls are pretty “stiff” for lack of better words. You’ll press left three times and the cursor will only move twice. If you’re in a trance, trying to clear levels as fast as possible, this WILL bite you in the ass numerous times. You really have to take your time with this version. Maybe the original controlled just as poorly, or it’s the emulator’s fault, I don’t know.

But WHERE IS CLUB NINTENDO PICROSS!!!!?!?!?!? Gah. Guess I’ll just wait patiently for Picross e4.

      • Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind! If anything, maybe the “stiff” controls will snap me out of my intense focus so I won’t miss my subway stops.

  • Fuck it, I’m getting Picross. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the endless Club Nintendo Reward roulette, it’s to go for it the second they offer something even the slightest bit appealing, because saving your coins for something you REALLY want could just as easily turn out to be a massive waste.

  • AnimeRemix

    >Use coins to get Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels
    >Enter code into Wii U
    >Error message saying the download code for the game is currently not being distributed.

…Okay, Nintendo. So… When can I get my game?

    • BlueTree

I’m assuming person who did the article messed up and didn’t list it as “Wii Virtual Console”

      • AnimeRemix

After using the internet to help me, I found out that I had to switch the Wii screen on my Wii U, then access the Wii Shop Channel and put in the code there to redeem the game. First time doing this, and wish that I knew what to do earlier instead of making a fool out of myself and heading to the eshop.

  • I wish Australian Nintendo Club have this kind of thing, worst region for club nintendo ever
