Another pair of 3D Classics for the Nintendo 3DS are available today. Sega have released 3D Ecco the Dolphin and 3D Galaxy Force II for $5.99/€4.99/£4.49 each.

You can learn about the development of both 3D remasters in a set of extensive interviews that Siliconera has been publishing in collaboration with Sega and Impress Watch. Links to them are available below.

I remember being absolutely enamored by Galaxy Force II on my Genesis (using a Mega Drive slot adapter). It just blew me away. Then I later read during the Sega Ages released on the PS2 that the Genesis version paled in comparison to the original game.

A Youtube visit later of the first default level in the Arcade version was pretty amazing to me, since the moon slowly zooming into view as you flew into it did not happen on the Genesis version.

A question about the 3D Sega Classics: Are they actual remakes, or are they straight ports, using the parallax layers for to guide the 3D effects? Are they typically console remakes or arcade remakes (when possible)?
