Indie RPG Transistor Is In Alpha. Next Up—Polish And Fine-Tuning.

Supergiant Games, the studio behind Bastion, is hard at work on its next game, Transistor, and recently provided an update as to its status on their official blog (thanks, Polygon).

“Right now Transistor is in an alpha state where just about all of the content, systems, and features we have in mind are implemented in some fashion, and the game is playable from beginning to end,” writes Supergiant’s Greg Kasavin. “It’s where we wanted to be as we head into 2014.”

“In the coming weeks, we plan to keep testing, tuning, and iterating on every aspect of the game until we think it’s ready to put out there for you to play. We’ll talk more specifics as we get closer to that time.”

Just how many platforms Transistor will be released on is unknown as of this time, but Supergiant did confirm a PlayStation 4 version of the game at E3 earlier in the year. Bastion was released on PC, Mac, Xbox 360, iOS platforms and even Google Chrome.

I absolutely love Bastion and it’s western feel, so im most certainly looking forward to the direction their taking with Transistor. Hope they have the same amazing narrator, or someone just as good.

Logan Cunningham (Rucks/the narrator in Bastion) is voicing the sword in this game. He’s basically narrating again.

  • KingGunblader

Interesting how PS4 is currently the only platform confirmed to be getting Transistor, yet PS3 is the only system that doesn’t have Bastion. On a side note, HOW GREAT WAS BASTION?!

      It was OK.

The action part is good as platform rpg, nothing mind blowing or totally new but they’ve done it well. For some, the narrator is the selling point like Stanley Parable.

I liked the game, but I wish the narrator was scaled back like, 50%.

I’ll be buying it day one, possibly before if there’s a neat pre-order bonus or something.
Loved Bastion to bits, and Transistor is looking even better.

hopefully there is some sort of portable release be it 3DS, Vita, or even mobile.

The song of the trailer is perpetually playing in my head when I am not thinking of anything else. (Although, sometimes, it’s Sins of the Father instead.)

Surprisingly, it’s easily one of my most anticipated next-gen games so far.

This game basically looks super-cool and it’s neat they have a female protagonist. Unfortunately that feels like all I can say right now, not a lot of info out on this here game just yet…
