Konami Looking Into Metal Gear Rising Region Lock On Steam

Recommended Videos

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is coming to Steam later this week, but the game appears to be region-locked. While the game is available to residents of the U.S. and United Kingdom, Rising is unavailable in certain parts of Europe and Asia, and gifting the game across regions is disabled in certain parts of the world as well.

That said, Konami are looking into the issue, J.P. Kellams, a Creative Producer at PlatinumGames shared via his Twitter feed. Kellams tweeted: “Just letting everyone know: First thing I did in the office today was talk about the MGR region lock thing. @konami are looking in to it.”

He added, “When I hear something back from the producer that I can share, I will be sure to share it here. Still no idea what’s up though.”

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be available via Steam on January 9th.
