Square Enix have shared a new Japanese video from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This one features a showdown between Lightning and Noel, but in the interest of trying to avoid spoilers for those that would rather not know what’s going on, we won’t elaborate any further.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available in February for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America.

      • harmonyworld

      • KrazyBean

Only in the US. Way to give us Europeans the middle finger Squeenix.

        • CptPokerface

Hey fair is fair, you guys already have Bravely Default. Lightning Returns is still a month away from us. Come to think of it, so is Bravely Default.

          • Seraph

To be fair, you guys have SMTIV and Rune Factory 4 already. We’ll probably see the latter in about a year or so.

          • CptPokerface

Honestly forgot about rune factory mistake. That seriously blows.

          • Sesshomaru

Poor baby. Usually you get everything before Europe. Sometimes months before.

          • KrazyBean

But the US gets pretty much EVERY other game before Europe.

          • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

The past several Nippon Ichi games have come out a month earlier in the EU than in the US. Times are a changin’.

        • Gemlit

You guys also got the international version of Final Fantasy X out way early, like a year or two when it first came out around a decade or so. And now SE is reworking it.

    • Kumiko Akimoto

You could make a japanese psn account and download it that way. That’s how must people probably did anyways, that’s what my friend did at least

  • deadMastershiro

I like the first game but i feel this is what they should have done with paradigm shifts except without the change of clothes.

  • Slickyslacker

The boss battle BGM (that is, the track that was playing during the in-game fight) vaguely reminds me of Metroid Prime, or even the final stand-off with Ganon in Twilight Princess. Surely, it’s the taiko drums.

I can’t express how excited I am for this game.

  • Saphiren

    Can’t wait.

  • Arcana Drill

The battle system seems good, i’m interested in this title.

    • KrazyBean

Check out what you can do with the combat system if you’re pro enough. This guy makes the game look like Devil May Cry. LOL.

      • Luis Ibal

OMG this is amazing, looks too fun to pass out this game

  • darkfox1

Whoa could of thought this came out everywhere already. Completely forgot about this game.

  • Guest

Noel reminds me of the most photogenic man

  • TGS Babay (Umar)

I won’t lie, I’m not the biggest fan of the 13 saga, though I did really enjoy 13. But this is looking to be a pretty hype game

it taked 30 sesconds for me to defeat him :3
I start asking myself if people were not learning the fundamentals about the game since a good number of people complained at how difficult Noel is.

  • Noel is a cool dude. I thought he’d be an arrogant jerk based on his character art, but that was not the case.

  • Bell

I just can’t handle it. Seeing Noel in such a sad, confused state, hearing his theme play as he and Lightning clash swords…there’s too much emotion in this battle for me to handle. The Last Travel playing while the noises of Noel’s fight with Lightning in the background really sell how serious this all is.
