I hope Hiyama and Hyped Sabat’s collective vocal cords are used to market a good Dragon Ball games in the future or something. I’ve enjoyed the most recent trailers in English and Japanese, but the game looks to be far below standard especially with other games coming up even other ones from Namco Bandai like J-Stars Victory Vs, Be A Man! Samurai School PS3, Kuroko’s Basketball 3DS, Detective Conan 3DS and Magi’s second 3DS game.

This is a game with America as target, when they make games for japan, they do good games, with the same developer (Artdink) you have Macross Ultimate and Triangle Frontier, Macross 30, Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, Gundam Battle Universe, AKB games, Ressha de ikou… all of them has more love than this crappy DBZ game.

This game looks like it might be really fun. Kinda like a new Dragonball Z Legends. The demo was pretty fun, but my main gripe about the game is the character roster.
I get that SSJ God was possibly Toriyama’s way to negate DBGT’s existence and replace ssj4, so that might be why there are no GT characters in this game. And I’m fine with that, (though they are still likely to appear in some future games) but I still feel like this game is missing a bunch of characters from the original Z-verse. Vegito is the first one that comes to mind. Looks like ssj Vegito is the only version of the character in the game, and he’s DLC. Meanwhile there are 5 versions of Freeza, 4 version of Cell (5 if you count Cell jr.), 4 versions of Buu and 4 versions of Cooler.
And then there are 6 versions of Gohan, 5 versions of Goku, etc.
Missing are characters like Gogeta, Videl, Pikkon, Kaioshin (Eastern Supreme Kai in the dub), Tapion, Great Saya Man, Janemba, Bojack, Zangya, etc.

I’m not sure how I feel about all these different versions of the characters in the game though. Having one single character that can transform is usually hit-or-miss with me, but so is having a lot of versions of the same character.
When playing the demo, I felt like being able to transform seemed fitting with the game mechanics as you can use spacing and buy yourself time, so I hope transformation is still possible in the game, and not that they already start out at ssj2 level at the start of the battle, for example.

This is nice and all, but as my PS3 is YLOD, my Vita is all I’ve got to play this game. It runs perfectly on it, but being digital only, I fear it’ll miss out on the DLC.

How about you guys shows off the vs cpu mode? or free battle mode? Because that feature doesn’t even exist in the demo..

I don’t even think it exists in the final version either.

seems like this game force you to always play online. So RIP for people who prefer to play offline because of poor internet connection (i’m one of them btw)

I gotta agree with the first comment. I was very excited to see 4v4 combat, but the roster is very poor. They even skipped Zarbon and Dodoria while putting in Frieza Soldier. Where is Bojack, Android 13, Hatchiyack, Tarble, Abocado, Garlic Jr. and many others. They are just left out of the game completely. I’m happy to see the Battle of Gods characters, but it seems each DBZ game they just try to pull out some exclusive character to suck people in while forgetting about a majority of characters.

Another issue is that the online is horrible. I have not completed a single game online without multiple people dropping from the match due to lag. More often then not i’m waiting for the game to synchronize. I’ve never had any issues playing online with any other game. For a heavily advertised feature it really does stink.

“including 4-on-4 battles, 8-on-8 battles, AND(!!!!!) online multiplayer as well”

    More like online multiplayer ONLY. And as such, I don’t care if it’s 2 or 4 or 8 players… it’s online… and that s*cks big time :(
