Energy Recovery Time For JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle Will Be 2 Minutes

By Ishaan . January 31, 2014 . 10:01am

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will get a day-one update patch in EMEA territories, that will lower the waiting time in Campaign Mode for Energy Recovery to 2 minutes.

The day-one patch will include balance changes featured in Patch 1.04 of the Japanese version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, and will also add the new Arcade Mode to the game, which lets you fight a series of eight CPU controlled opponents to win gold.

On rare occasions, the Arcade Mode icon will switch to Harvest while connected online, and you’ll be able to win even more gold while playing Arcade Mode. This gold can then be spent on hints and single-use items to help you out during battles.  Gold can also be earned in the game’s Campaign Mode.

Additionally, Namco have confirmed that players in North America, Europe and Asia will be able to play JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle together in the same online realm. The game is slated for release later this year.

The Arcade Mode and balance changes have been confirmed for the American release of All-Star Battle, too, so we would assume the lowered waiting time is present in that version of the game as well. We’ve contacted Namco Bandai’s American division to find out if the U.S. version will require a patch download as well.

Nice! Hopefully I’m not too rusty that I can hold my own against the Japanese, been a good while since I played my import copy, which I no longer own.

  • MikelAL93

A good sign for those getting the game in English, hopefully I will pre-order my physical copy once given the chance.

  • KonjikinoSora

Does the fact that this game is getting a physical release mean that there will be an English dub? I was always upset that Pirate Warriors was never released physically in the US.

    • KnifeAndFork

Considering the Girls Romance Visual novel, Hakuoki coming soon for the PS3, will also be retail and will not have an English dub.

I think either SCEA has gotten more lax on the issue or Namco and Aksys mighty forked over a fee or something. Probably the former….

      • MikelAL93

Aquapazza was released at retail, and yet it didn’t have a dub.

        • Harlan Hikaru Fox

Sony tends to ease up on dub restrictions once a system becomes a legacy system. With PS4 now their flagship product, they won’t be as strict about PS3 releases.

    • DaiRaiOh

It’s very unlikely. The sheer amount of different characters in the game would make putting a dub together all kinds of difficult, and all kinds of expensive. Pretty much the opposite of what they’re aiming for with this release

    • Grape Monet

They already said the game will only have Japanese voice-overs.

      • KonjikinoSora

I should have worded myself better. I heard about that, but I was confused as to why we are getting this physically, while Pirate Warriors was not allowed this privilege.

“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will get a day-one update patch in EMEA territories, that will lower the waiting time in Campaign Mode for Energy Recovery to 2 minutes.”

Just get rid of the whole energy bar…’s a pain to unlock everything with that restriction. I feel like I’m playing a mobile game…

Still going to buy it to support the series.

    • KnifeAndFork

It really is. There were times when I spent over half a day waiting to unlock the simplest of things. Would really drag on at times…
It might have made sense before with the timed DLC to help extend play interest but but I heard they’ll just throw the characters in the release.
What they should focus on is a better netcode

      • TheGameTagerZ

I tried to go all out and complete the campaign getting all the quotes and costumes but its tiring. I ended up not playing my import copy all together after a month of grinding.

    • DaiRaiOh

Realize that without it, it’d actually be more annoying to unlock things as you’d have no way of speeding through bosses and nothing says fun like fighting Baoh about 75 times in a row for a single costume unlock

      • TheGameTagerZ

I rather replay the Story getting all stars or high ranking to unlock costumes than to sit all day to get one costume for Giorno.

But you know, that’s just me.

        • DaiRaiOh

Even though with the 5 minute battery, getting costumes was quick and easy. I had most of the costumes from the Baoh campaign within the first day and the only reason I didn’t have them all was because I really wanted all of Baoh’s taunts and poses so more effort went to fighting him. Not to mention the length of the game would be much much much shorter if one got costumes that way considering one could unlock everything within a day, plus it doesn’t exactly leave room for unlocking taunts and poses.

  • Kid Kuma

I’d just like to say I’m surprised, excited, and grateful that this game is getting a western release.
    P.S. Take note SEGA

  • Hound

Can’t wait to get the full list of name changes and whether or not the audio will have some dialogue removed.

  • BillyMK

So the Japanese version won’t get the arcade mode?

    • DemonShadowX

Sounds like this was something that was patched in, or going to be patched.

  • vileBrenman

I hope we get the DLC characters

    • Grape Monet

They said that we’re getting 41 characters. The original game had 32 and they added 9 as DLC. So yes, we’re getting them. Whether or not we get them as DLC or if they’re included from the start remains to be seen.

      • vileBrenman

I hope they are included in the game. That’s just my wishful money saving dream

  • Prithivi

I really miss the times when you just had to beat the arcade mode to get characters, stages and costumes :(

That being said, I will buy the game day 1 (although I’m sad without Hot Pants :( in the game).

  • SlickRoach

Well…at least it’s not as long as the stamina recovery in Puzzle & Dragons. Can’t count how many times I’ve missed out on a Metal Dragon dungeon because of that.

  • jsecula
