South Park: The Stick of Truth Pre-Order Coupon Gets You 20% Off

By Viet Do . February 8, 2014 . 11:00am

After surviving THQ’s bankruptcy, South Park: The Stick of Truth saw salvation from Ubisoft and is now finally shipping to a game store near you (or digital game store, whatever floats your boat). The pre-order hit the Steam Store just earlier this week, with now confirmation that it’ll be a full Steam title (achievements and what not) — no requirement for Uplay. Probably the first for a recent Ubisoft title (bad news for Uplay executives if the lack of Uplay is better received).

Anyhow, DRM talk aside (because we all love using 2X DRM to play a game), The Stick of South surfaced in a pre-order deal at Green Man Gaming for the US and GameFly in the UK.  Essentially you can get the game for 25% off at GMG in North America, whereas if you’re a UK/EU resident, GameFly has it at 20% off with the latest coupon.

Update 3/7: Game is now so coupon is down to 20%. Use coupon MAR20OFF for US and H799RH-7L8NPP-RCKKT8 for UK/EU deal listed below.

End Game Title MSRP % Off Sale Price
n/a South Park: The Stick of Truth (Steam) $59.99 20% $48
n/a South Park: The Stick of Truth UK/EU (Steam) £39.99 20% £32

Pre-ordering gets you the “Ultimate Fellowship” content pack, which includes:

  • Necromancer Sorcerer – bonus fire damage
  • Ranger Elf – Bonus weapon damage
  • Rogue Assassin – bonus gold
  • Holy Defender – bonus defenses

You get the gist. Bonus, bonus, bonus everywhere! Depending on the retailer, if you order specifically from the Uplay shop, you’ll get an additional Samurai Spaceman pack, everywhere else gets the Ultimate Fellowship pack only.

On other noteworthy deals for the PC, the super-duper hyped Titanfall and Elder Scrolls Online are both on pre-order sale (ESO is back at 25% off again), and as an aside Gamefly has some LEGO game titles on sale. Yep, hyped AAA games and then there’s LEGO games. We both know which ones are the sure thing.

Can someone refresh my memory, and tell me when was this announced first? I feel like it was some years ago, but I’m not sure.

    • Long time ago.. in a galaxy far far away…

I think it was 2011 or before when word first got out.

  • Stick of Truth shouldn’t be 60 dollars to begin with. That’s my opinion though.

      • It doesn’t seem like it was originally marketed as a retail game when they first announced it. Seemed like something on XBLA. Its just surprising that it is coming out as a retail game, let alone at 60 dollars. I know its a legitimate RPG and stuff but it still feels like an overpriced South Park episode to me.

I have a feeling the game will sell like crazy regardless of the price. Personally I might wait for a price cut.

          • No doubt it will probably sell like crazy, it is South Park afterall.

        • FitzpatrickPhillips

Honestly just sounds like you’re saying this because of the graphical style. You should be judging the price tag by its content.

          • Perhaps I am, could be just bad feelings on my part.

        • Manny Being Manny

Just because its using the South Park artstyle doesn’t mean its an indie game.

          • I never said it was. Its South Park of course it would have a bunch of money and companies behind it.

        • Kalis Konig

there was never any evidence to back up this claim at this games reveal.

  • Stick of Truth shouldn’t be 60 dollars to begin with. That’s my opinion though.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

C-Can it just actually come out this time? No more delays?

    • Meteor crashes into Ubisoft HQ. Indefinitely delayed again. Ubisoft bankrupts from meteor repair cost. EA picks up the title. *dun dun dun*

  • 3PointDecoupage

Still too pricey. Ill get it in six months when its 20 bucks. Or just rent it. Seems like a game you could beat in a weekend.

    • Manny Being Manny

Why would it be that short? This is an RPG from Obsidian… you know, KOTOR 2 was like 30 hours, New Vegas was like 60+, Neverwinter Nights 2 was like 60… even Alpha Protocol was like 20. I’d say 20 hours is the minimum, more likely 30+.

      • subsamuel01

Plus Fallout New Vegas, spent like 100+ hours on that alone.

  • revenent hell

Well… I think it would be a fun game to play if it sticks to the ” South Park” theme of life I suppose one could say…… For me though its not a game I see and think *MUST HAVE* So for this im going to have to pass…. February and March games have tapped me out more than I would have liked really…. though later on I may pick it up for the laughs.

As far as games coming out and pre ordering others go that is…..

  • SlickRoach

Can’t wait for Stick of Truth but I’d like at least a PS4 version or next gen version for when I eventually get my PS4.

  • z_merquise

I checked PSN and saw a pre-order of this game from there. Looks like there’s a higher chance that the game won’t be delayed anymore.

I’m really looking forward to this. I wonder if they’ll have Manbearpig or Mecha-Streisand as one of the bosses.

  • Can’t wait for this one.

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

I’m expecting good things from this game.

  • Paul Rodriguez

I was hoping this was for the physical copy at Gamestop or Amazon. Don’t care for Steam and digital games.

  • Warboss Aohd

    no Uplay is a Godsend

i bought Heroes of Might and Magic 6 on Steam, and i can’t get passed the Main Menu because of Conflux.

Not that it matters for me personally cause i’ll be getting the 360 version most likely, but for those who do it’s nice.
