Want to try Sega’s alternate take on Japanese history where Kazuma Kiryu and other Yakuza characters replace historical figures from the Shinsengumi? A demo for Yakuza Restoration with the very beginning of story mode will be available on PlayStation Network in Japan on February 13 ahead of the game’s February 22 release date.

Yakuza Restoration has four types of fighting styles, sword, pistol, hand to hand, and ranbu which will be available in the demo. Players that download the 2,410 MB demo will also be able to try out mini-games like fishing and visiting a singing bar.

Yakuza Restoration is also in development for PlayStation 4 and it will be a PS4 launch title in Japan.

Beefy demo, will have to be sure to grab this. The mini-games are always a fun diversion even in their reduced demo forms. I hold out a fools hope that one day we will see this released in English, maybe since there is a PS4 version Sega would translate it to give that platform more releases.

Gosh I hope it’s not pond fishing like in 5, I could never figure out how to make the fish bites.
