why on earth would these be coming to wii u and not 3ds. what is wrong with nintendo

    • Luke

Confused about this as well, GBA games are not going to look very good on a tv….

      • 하세요

I’d imagine playing them on the tablet is an option as well.

      • Farid Belkacemi

It’ll probably be glorious on the GamePad :p

      • IsaacGravity

They looked fine back in the days of the Gameboy Player.

    • I think it’s because the Wii U isn’t doing so hot. They know people want these GBA games so they’re opting to put them on the Wii U instead to attract more consumers.

      • KingGunblader

The only other reason I could see is that they don’t want to piss off the Ambassadors. But they already got their games, so I don’t see why the rest of us can’t pay for them.

      • Barrylocke89

A wise little girl would have had a response to that.

        ¿por qué no las dos?

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Because they announced this last year numnuts

    • Setsu Oh

why on earth would these be coming to wii u AND 3ds. what is wrong with nintendo

  • LexKitteh

So, is Nintendo going to omit multiplayer for games like Kirby and the Amazing Mirror? With two displays, and the possibility of two gamepads, its possible, but I don’t expect them to try.

  • Shane Guidaboni

Why aren’t these for the 3DS? Why isn’t there cross-compatibility between VC games you buy on Wii-U and 3DS? Do we need to march into Nintendo offices and slap them with this idea?

    • Luke

      Looks that way

    • mirumu

If Nintendo didn’t include any hardware level GBA emulation in the 3DS, it may be be really difficult to emulate GBA games on the 3DS. From what I know of the 3DS CPU/GPU it’s not really powerful enough for that kind of task.

      • Shane Guidaboni

Then why does my 3DS play GBA games that Nintendo gave to me because I adopted a 3DS early?

        • Taedirk

Because shut up with your logic.

        • mirumu

Ah right, I’d totally forgotten about that.

        • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

You do know the emulation is pretty bad on those right?

          • Shane Guidaboni

Okay? I’ve never had any problems playing any of them. Nothing weird what-so-ever.

          • Luke

            Yeah, mine run perfectly

      • Nanaki

The 3DS is actually capable of perfectly emulating GBA games.

      • Awwblain Leger

This is literally the stupidest thing I’ve read all week. Congrats! *plays Yoshi’s Island on his 3DS*

        • mirumu

I was just being forgetful it seems. Never actually done it on my 3DS as I still have a GBA.

      • Even if the Ambassador games weren’t a thing that would make no sense. The 3DS can run retail-size 3DS games digitally; are you seriously saying those are less complex programs than GBA emulation?

        • mirumu

Well first up I just wanted to say I was forgetting the 3DS does actually have GBA emulation as I mentioned below.

That said, I have written emulators, and yes, it typically does require a lot more CPU/GPU power than people realise. Emulation is often more difficult than a native game.

  • sd28

i believe they already stated that there are difficulty’s running gba games on 3ds and which they don’t have on wiiu hence why we get them on wiiu first.

  • PreyMantis

First the DS, and now the GBA!? Would rather have the GBA games on the 3DS, but this is cool, too, I guess… I just hope that someday we’ll be seeing GBA games on the 3DS, too.

    • IsaacGravity

Man, I’d love to see me some SNES games on the 3DS…

  • Pandakids09 .

Oh dear god Nintendo is fucking up again. Sorry tell you this isn’t going to move Wii U’s just make them for the 3DS already

  • Max

People shouldn’t assume GBA games won’t come to the 3DS VC too.
This is most likely just a timed exclusive to boost the WiiU for a while.
Also, cross-play/buy for VC was implied on the investors meeting.

    • Anewme…Again

They did give 10 GBA games on the 3DS for earlier adopter, so i think the chance are good that GBA games come to 3DS someday.

  • SetzerGabbiani

Atlus: Make your forgotten GBA backlog happen (if you still have the licensing rights), and let me play Super Robot Taisen: OG 1 + 2 for the millionth time. Also:

    River City Ransom
    Summon Knight
    Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis
    Mah Sting games
    Robopon 2

    Open the floodgates!

  • Ryuki

Might be the wrong place but since I see the Golden Sun image being used, I gotta ask. Are they gonna continue with the series? DD left such a terrible cliffhanger…

  • MrJechgo

Seeing the screenshot makes me hope to see Golden Sun 4… because the last game ended on a cliffhanger…

  • PEOPLE! IT’S GOLDEN SUN! On a big screen! OMG!

  • Quan Chi

In b4 not one game has screen filtering because of ignorant fanboys….

  • Anthony Hadow

I probably will not buy any of these. They could be on a 3DS and I will lose out on having my GBA games being portable. Don’t get me wrong i want these games to be available digitally. But there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t be on the 3DS. the 3DS is a big success and it already has some GBA games already made for the system. I was quite happy with the idea of DS games coming to Wii U but the system lacks hardrive space. I am going to wait till the end of the 3DS’s lifetime and see if they don’t reconsider releasing SNES and GBA games onto it

  • Ric Vazquez

    I want Golden Sun 1 & 2 on my3ds damnit…
