Robotics;Notes Elite For Vita Adds New Features, Animated Scenes

By Sato . March 11, 2014 . 1:21pm

Earlier last year, 5pb announced that they’ll be bringing Robotics;Notes, their third game in the popular science adventure series, to PlayStation Vita. Famitsu gives us a glimpse of what the Vita port of the game will include.

Robotics;Notes was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will be released as Robotics;Notes Elite for PlayStation Vita. The Vita port will have some newly added features. The magazine also reveals that the game’s story has been reconstructed.

Additionally, the magazine reports that the character models have been optimized for the PlayStation Vita, and there will be new animated scenes.

Robotics;Notes Elite will be released on June 26, 2014 for PlayStation Vita.

Both chaos head and Steins gate VN is awsome but how is Robotics;Notes? the anime is absolutely crap so i hope the VN is better

I played the game on 360 first before watching the anime (1000 cheevo it).. I thought the anime was much much better, better soundtrack, pacing, more action and animation for the robot fights, etc. Among the 3, it’s definitely not as good as Chaos;Head or Steins;gate unfortunately, which let down many who were anticipating the 3rd science adventure.

I’m actually surprised it’s finally being ported to the Vita since the game wasn’t very well received at all.. the twipo (twitter) system was a bit of a pain (they did patch the notification system later, after most finished w/ the game), not as fun as S;G’s text messages.. and there’s no specific char endings, they were part of the main story branching out. If you didn’t like the anime, you wouldn’t like the game at all (it’s just a lot slower), it’s just much more mundane details, but more boring and less intriguing than S;N’s detailed time traveling theory.. many ideas were introduced to shock players but weren’t explored and led to nowhere.. the cast was more ordinary, Frau would be like the quirkiest.. I bought the nendoroid for Frau and Aki though.. want to get this figure too..

Nevertheless, I did like the story/cast and the anime, but not really the VN, the execution of it wasn’t good and the lackluster soundtrack, the 3D models were pretty well done. So I’m curious how much they would restructure the game’s story.. maybe w/ touch screen the interface would be better (looking for the virtual tags)..and maybe they could do more w/ the AR w/ Vita’s camera.. might just import again for the trophies.. My 360 gamer’s pic is still the Gunvarel lol..

To compliment Aoshi comment, some of the things anime watcher complained as “plot holes” are actually explained in the VN. More details here: http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=4607754&postcount=1218

It’s really a shame we will probably never see a localized version, 5pb seems a difficult publisher to work with (apparently they aren’t even allowing JAST to put Steins;Gate on Steam for now, I hope they change their mind) and without a PC port a fantranslation can’t even start.

    • Renaldi Saputra

5pb isn’t the one any 3rd parties can touch easily IIRC

I’d love if some of those who don’t understand what localization folks can be up against took time to read up on what JAST has gone through over the years. Severe pushback from Japanese developers far precedes Rapeplay, Anita or concerns over the perceived ages of Monster Monpiece girls. Between unusable source codes, asking prices which clearly mean ‘go away’ to folks not even wanting to consider having games come over — those folks have seen and reported on it all.

New animated scenes? You mean new opening animation?
