Galaga is available for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console this week in North America. The game costs $4.99. Additionally, a few games of note are going on discount sale on the 3DS eShop in both North America and Europe.

In North America, SteamWorld: Dig is available for 50% off from today until March 16th, while Zen Pinball 3D, Marvel Pinball 3D and Star Wars Pinball 3D are 50% off from March 17th through March 31st.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Zen Pinball 3D, Marvel Pinball 3D and Star Wars Pinball 3D are on discount from today until March 20th. Zen Pinball 3D costs €2.49/£2.24 (down from €4.99/£4.49), while Marvel and Star Wars cost €3.49/£3.14 (down from €6.99/£6.29).

As always, Europe got AWESOME discounts.

…I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic here. I think the most notable recent sale was all the Level-5 games being like 60% off (Liberation Maiden, Attack of the Friday Monsters, etc) but other than that… eh??

      Has a reason many of us use the US 3ds >_>;

Etrian Untold still not available here…
Really, it’s getting almost as bad as it was in the SNES era.

    • Lumi

And no Rune Factory 4. It’s pretty sad for you guys. :(

  • Boy…last time I played Galaga would have been one of the last times I was with a bud of mine before he got hauled off to the Sea of Japan for the Navy. We went over to a GameXChange and they had an NES out with the game in it. I proceeded to play the crap out of it while he browsed the store.

30 minutes later he comes back and I’m still playing on the original credit and I’m on Stage 23 and he’s asking me if I’m going to be done any time soon. Pretty sure I left the high score forever there.

Helps I owned it since I was 6. My father was an arcade fanatic. Emphasis on was.

      “Emphasis on was”? ._.

      • Well, he’s not dead but his gaming career is pretty much. His son beat him out at an early age so he lost the will to continue to compete.

Man, eShop really can’t throw sales, can it

    • I don’t quite understand. If you’re talking about the discount amount in sales I beg to differ; 50% off is quite a nice thing. If you’re talking about having just a few games in the sale, I don’t see why that’s an indication of not being able to throw a sale. They do it fairly consistently even if they only put a few games on discount so that’s nice.
But if you’re talking about what games they’re putting on sale, then I’m inclined to agree with you.
However, in Ninty’s defense, they are following general economic standards of supply and demand. Although putting an awesome game like SteamWorld Dig at 50% discount when it already had a pretty darn low price for it’s quality is something really nice.

Steamworld Dig is almost always in one sale or another in the eshop. None of the bigger digital only titles like Ace Attorney, Chibi Robo, or Inazuma Eleven ever go on sale

        • fair point. I agree that it needs to choose better and bigger games to go on sale.
I never said it was a good defense. XD

        • Ferofax

They use the sales to promote the little guys. Also, I’m guessing its the devs that are putting titles up for sales, Nintendo just makes it happen. It’s not like Nintendo can just say, “Hey, I’m slashing 50% off of your eShop game for a few days, okay?”

  • JMaster3000

    Europe really loves dem ballz~~

  • fairysun

Is Nintendo going to be out of business if they put a sale on their old first party game? Because I never see them doing it. :(

    • They put NintendoLand on sale for $30 then promptly cut it from the damn eShop so I don’t really want to wake the dragon with this one.

    • Lumi

They did for a couple of weeks last year. Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong each for a week.

  • xzeldax3

All I want is the Ace Attorney discount the the EU got -_-

    • katamari damacy

      me too

  • katamari damacy

I’d wish they’d discount Ace Attorney and Chibi Robo already…
