Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Is A Games With Gold Freebie In Japan

By Spencer . March 16, 2014 . 11:00am

image While Civilization Revolution is a Games With Gold freebie in most countries, Japan has a different game. Microsoft switched the simulation game with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

We’ve seen switches like Dead Rising 2 to Resident Evil Code: Veronica and more recently Just Cause 2 replaced Sleeping Dogs. All of the changes so far have been because a game was rated CERO Z, which means its only for users 18 and older. However, this isn’t the case with Civilization Revolution.

The reason why Microsoft changed games is because Cyberfront, the publisher of Civilization Revolution in Japan, dissolved and probably do not have the rights to 2K’s game anymore.

So plus users get games recently released that are AAA titles and gold gets ancient mediocre bargain bin titles. Nice Microsoft

Brazilian Live got CivRevolution and Banjo-Tooie HD! Too bad I already paid for B-T HD.

  • Frankie

Does anyone want this game, even if it is free? I still have a hope for Banjo 3 at some point.

    • Lalum

I remember hearing some project about a spiritual successor. Don’t know what became of it though.

They had a twitter that lasted for a couple months then that was it. Grant Kirkhope said he wants to make it for Wii U though.

    • DaiRaiOh

I would. It was actually a pretty great game.

Nuts and Bolts was a great and still very beautiful looking game. The crafting mechanics were simple and very solid.

I still want to play this (but I don’t have an Xbox).

It may not be the Banjo-Threeie everyone wanted, but from what I’ve seen, it’s still a great game.

Grant Kirkhope is my idol, so, yeah.

i’m sure the 5 people who own a 360 in japan with xbox live will love this.

All joking aside, with the exceptionally low attach rate of the 360 in japan, it makes one wonder why they even bother honestly.

Too bad it’s not even a Banjo Kazooie game.
I would compare this to DmC in terms of how out of touch the games were with the original. I’m just glad Banjo and Kazooie didn’t get a terrible makeover.

    • DaiRaiOh

Doesn’t change the fact that it was a very creative and very good game,

      • MSJ

that’s a funny way to say the game was utter crap.

  • Awww! I saw that lovable mug and thought a new BK game was announced. Even if they do eventually announce a new game, I’m not getting my hopes up. Since Microsoft bought Rare, they’ve just gone bad. Although I think that’s more to do with the team changing over the years and losing those that actually had good ideas.
