Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi will be available in North America on May 6th, Aksys Games announced today. The game includes the story within the PSP and 3DS Hakuoki games that Aksys localized, along with additional story content. DLC for the game will be available as well.

As reported in the past, the game will be available in both regular and limited editions.

The limited edition of the game will cost $59.99, and will include a traditional Japanese omamori love charm, a hair comb and hair pin, all within a premium box alongside the game.

    • 07thCrow

Amazon and GameStop currently have the Limited Edition. :)
Oddly, the official Aksys store doesn’t carry it. :

Amazon has the LE for $50 instead of $60, who knows for how much longer. Gogogogo

Lol, I think this is the first game that ever include a comb in the bundle.

Dang, that’s a lot of stuff for an LE, plus it’s just 60 bucks. I’m quite surprised by this impressive bundle! The only thing it’s missing is a… neck massager. For your tired neck, after playing the game for such a long time.

    The shinsengumi huh… interesting

Going to be buying this game for the third time now.
Wish you could switch out the slip case in favor of your favorite guy, though.
How great would it be to see Heisuke every time instead of Hijikata.

Also, I’m glad they’re vying for items without any of the guys on them, since the 3DS collector’s edition let me down a lot in that regard…
    There was no Heisuke in the miniature art booklet. ;_;

Oh well… I’m just going to replay one route anyway. (It’s not hard to guess whose)

Aksys, I love you for bringing games like these to the west but for the love of God bring something new. Its almost the same game of every iteration of Hakuoki. Why not something like… I dont know Diabolik Lovers for the VITA (its a HELL OF A LOT better than the anime trust me) or Amnesia for the VITA? I know its hard to localize games and Im grateful for what we have and that hack and slash Hakuoki game is something nice in the mix too but just Hakuoki isn’t gonna last you very long because people will soon grow tired of it (I own the PSP version btw).

I think it might be a move to get something that’s already translated and tested well with the north american audience to as many platforms as possible.
That way more people have access to it, and they can see if bringing more otome games to the west is a profitable idea.
…Plus, dat Heisuke in HD. Mmm–I mean, what.

I’m with you, though, hoping for Amnesia, Diabolik Lovers, and other greats to be brought over. :3

      • Ricardo C

Im dying for a Diabolik Lovers game in English officially so I can support the people who bring it over so Im happy someone agrees :)

    I can’t wait! <3
