Deception IV’s release is coming up next week, and Tecmo Koei have uploaded four different gameplay videos from the game, including a hilarious “Super Trap,” which you can check out below. The game will be available on March 25th in North America and March 28th in Europe.

The graphics may look extremely dated, but the game looks really fun. I wonder how difficult it is to come up with these trap scenarios? I think I’ll be picking up the ps3 version…even if my wallet cries :( lol

They’re pretty easy to figure out. This isn’t from first-hand experience with the game, but from experience with the series in general.

The Deception series has made connecting traps an easier affair and a more streamlined/simplified one.

Just focus on figuring out how to connect one trap to another in a linear fashion and you’ll be able to chain it all just fine. And be sure to read the description of your traps (that or test them out on the field).

    Oooh, nice.

Seems they expanded the space given for the personal bio of each of the victims.

I wonder how many people who’ll be trying this game out for the first time will feel pretty bad for what they’re doing.

    Right in the nuts!

The tacos. They crack with enough force, too.

I detect JAPANESE AUDIO in localized version!
    [Excitement intensifies]

    PURCHASE INEVITABLE.

(Has Tecmo Koei decided to provide Japanese audio in all their localized games now or something? If so, that’s simply AWESOME! Thank you TK!)

But that said, I would appreciate if they gave the Warriors series a continued English dub.

Yes I know people complain that it either takes them out of the experience or isn’t as good a voice acting as the Japanese one. But for the whole immersion thing. Chinese warriors speaking Japanese is just as weird as Chinese warriors speaking English.

And at least with the English dub, you don’t need to take your eyes off of the action to read the in game quips and comments and directions, which sometimes passes by too quickly to read during a frantic fight.

It’s just generally better for both the gameplay and for an overall gaming experience… Now if only they’d give the narrator of DW8 an actual voice to begin with…

I see your point and I admit they are true.
Nevertheless, personally I still prefer Japanese voice simply because that’s how it was made originally. (unless they originally had them speaking in Chinese then I would want Chinese voices haha).

        Dual-audio then ;)

I can’t wait to watch the creativity some people have in creating the traps.

Hope the high heels and golden horse eventually end up as dlc in NA, though unlikely.

So……… I’m guessing non-lethal defeat isn’t an option in this game.

      That’s DLC.

The one with the banana peel/pumpkin/wooden-horse looked pretty non-lethal to me… for “painful and humiliating enough that you’d want to be dead” values of non-lethal anyway.

Is the game just going to be in Japanese w/English subs?

    If so – neat ;D

well my curiosity was sated lol
