Elder Scrolls Online Early Access Starts Sunday at 7AM ET

Update 6/20: ESO is now live and launched! Best discounts for The Elder Scrolls Online here.

Friday, April 4th is the official release date for The Elder Scrolls Online, but those who pre-order the Imperial Edition won’t have to wait that long. As part of an Imperial Edition pre-order bonus, you’ll get a 5-day “head start” early access, allowing North American players to enter Tamriel on Sunday, March 30th at 7AM Eastern. The $79.99 Imperial Edition price tag is quite intimidating, but if you pre-order at GMG, there’s a 25% off coupon code slashing the price of Imperial Edition to a much more manageable $64.

Standard Edition pre-orders will get a shorter head start of 3 days, beginning Tuesday, April 1st at 7AM Eastern. The same coupon will slash the price to $45 for the Standard Edition. While you won’t get all the goodies in the Imperial pack (like the ability to play the Imperial Race), you’ll otherwise get the same pre-order bonuses in the form of an “Explorer Pack” that allows you to play any race in any alliance and gets you bonus treasure maps. For the full early access timing in other regions, check out the schedule from the ESO AMA.

If you’d rather keep your Elder Scrolls games strictly single player, there are actually a few relevant deals also going on at GMG: Skyrim Legendary Edition has been slashed to $19.20 after coupon, which is the lowest price ever by $3 and gets you the Skyrim base game plus all DLC; also on sale are Oblivion and Morrowind GOTY editions, down to $6.59 apiece, or 67% off. Not too bad if you want to pick titles up piecemeal.

Wait, I thought it wasn’t releasing until July?

Gotta compete with PS4 Final Fantasy XIV. It’s all part of the plan. (Still think it’s too late for them to top ARR though)

I think the PS4 version of XIV releases on the 14th, while the second PS4 beta for ARR begins April 4th as well, which is (hopefully) when I get my PS4 as well.

Everything is going according to plan… *evil grin*

Normal pre orders with explorer can play tomorrow too…

This isn’t entirely correct. If you preordered the digital edition from the official ESO store you still get 5 days early access. If you got the standard edition from anywhere else you only get 3 days early access. Imperial edition gets you early access regardless of where you purchased it from.

Cannot believe how bad this looks compare to skyrim….
Sorry but il stick to skyrim and its glorious mods
