Attack Of The Abductors, The Mechanical Beast Enemies In Freedom Wars

In Freedom Wars, one of your main enemies will be giant mechanical beasts, called Abductors, that kidnap citizens of your Panapticon. While we’ve seen a few of them thus far, we haven’t seen them all. Their latest trailer shows us exactly how they’ll be threatening the people of the city-state.

The trailer starts out with a guy shouting “what the heck do they mean a divine punishment?” followed by other prisoners helping out in the evacuation while being raided by what looks like mechanical Rathalos and Rathian-like Abductors terrorizing the Panapticon and its citizens.

At the end of the trailer, this message is seen on the screen, "Divine Punishment: The harvest of arrogance that spreads across the lands."

Going by that, it looks like someone wasn’t exactly too happy with the people who were being attacked. They also mention that a “divine punishment” notification will be revealed on April 17.

Freedom Wars will be released on June 26, 2014 for PlayStation Vita.

    EPIC!!!
Please Sony.. I, and many other gamers would love to see this great game localized.

    • Ryujin

Oi oi, if you’re a Madao, how come you have enough money to buy videogames, eh? :V

But in all seriousness, I do agree. The game looks great and I’d love to see it localized sooner rather than later.

      • Aries_Atkasha

That’s right. I think Imageepoch said something about releasing four of their games this year, so I’m hoping for something nice for my vita :)
BTW, any news about Sol Trigger OST?

        • TheAnswerisback

Yea no official ost was ever released ….Sol trigger was so good the story felt exactly like a full fledged anime like I couldn’t stop playing it just for the story.
If they did a remake on the vita or just a port and localized I would buy it day one I really enjoyed that game lol

    • DanielGearSolid

      Survival of the fittest!

  • Kornelious

Just keeps gettin better and better, I await a localization announcment! :D

  • neocatzon

    Human = arrogance? pretty much.
Also, this divine punishment is better not a deed by another human or it will be a total cliche.

    • Earthjolly

Divine punishment in itself is a cliche

      • neocatzon

If it’s a means to end aka deus ex machina. As the conflict it can be ended with anything the writer desire. Take an example Titan from AoT is maybe a research mishap or possibly a natural disaster.

If the answer of everything is the guy behind panopticon, it’s not a surprise. Though I want something unexpected for once.

  • Valtiel Ikari

this game is going to be awesome!

  • TheAnswerisback

this is getting imported idc if their localizing it because localizing will take forever as usually and as usually I’m impatient

  • Göran Isacson

Kinda curious where the story will go with this. People are born into prisons and fight rampaging robots… maybe some kind of war once upon a time lead to the world being devastated by robots, and now in order to build a proper army to fight these monsters humanity up and trapped themselves in these prisons to endure the punishment of mankinds collective sin in creating these warmachines?

Man, IF this turns out to be the case just wait for some plot twist where it turns out that the people behind the war are the ones behind the prison systems and THEY don’t have to fight or do anything lifethreatening.

I think the “robots” may not actually be robots. The hint could be the mentioned “Artificial Abductors”.. meaning there could be organic Abductors. Looking at the Dragon Type Abductor, it looks like some of it looks organic. Who knows what their exact origins are.. I’m not saying there isn’t a possibility of them being man made but the source of world devastations seems given.

I wouldn’t really doubt that previous world leaders decided the whole Panopticon idea either, post war that is.

Check the images and read the texts:

      http://asia.playstation.com/Minisite/hk/freedomwars/en/

“Experiments of men throughout history have led to the violence between nations which ultimately result in their destruction. This eventually led to the disintegration of countries and people show their sorrow of defeat.
However, this does not mark the end of men as they are determined to find answers of their destiny.

The city state of Panopticon is the symbol of men’s reconstruction of the pyramid, an example of how people’s government should evolve through the challenge of time.

The city state of Panopticon is an artificial nation which brings great efficiency and comfort to its people, providing a full system of security as well.

This system forms the root of the society, in which all people of Panopticon are a part of and obligated to show their support. Under the leadership of the central headquarter, all men of Panopticon shall make contribution to their home state. In return,
the state shall promise a fair distribution of rights and resources to its people.

For the first time in human history, people have finally reached an ideal society of true equality and mark the beginning of prosperity.”

      (probably propaganda).

As for Panopticons, they’re probably just for artificial-forced development. Isn’t there a saying that competition is good for advancement? Panopticons have to top each other or make alliances. (This is official)

“These large living weapons are called “Abductors” by the Panopticon people. Various types of Abductors are developed as weapons.”

    • Vash bane

hm sounds like a anime I watched ounce. if that plot twist turns out to be true
