PlayStation Vita is the home for games like Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. Kadokawa Games and Atlus also have music and rhythm games developed by Dingo. Marvelous AQL is entering the genre with IA/VT Colorful with the Vocaloid IA.

IA/VT Colorful has over 60 songs and music videos in the game. Players can choose what songs they want to tap to in free play mode or take on daily challenges. Marvelous AQL added online leaderboards and over 20 costumes for IA.

IA/VT Colorful comes out on July 31 in Japan.

    Next year, Xseed.

  • Tenabrus

    make it come to America.

  • Detrimont

    KagePro songs confirmed

  • TheBlackRabbit

There is something off about her animation….

    • s07195

If you’re talking about the part where See The Lights is playing, that’s because it’s not animation they made for the game. I’m pretty sure that’s a PV made with an IA MMD model.

      • TheBlackRabbit

Ahhh makes sense…too bad it is the est song in the game.
Unless they dont have that song.

        • s07195

          They probably have it. XD
Looking forward to seeing if it’s the full song since I loved it in Groove Coaster. :P

          • TheBlackRabbit

I’m still looking forward to it thou, :D

    • The See the Lights IA cover/MMD PV was part of the IAProject collab. The MMD motion was actually based off of motion cap from a very talented hip-hop dance group. At first it’s kind of in uncanny valley territory, but if you watch the whole thing I think you might appreciate the choreography knowing it’s an attempt to match IA to an actual live dancer.

Rotoscoping can very time consuming.. props to them. I prefer Hi-Fi Raver MMD tho, as far as rotoscoped results go.

I guess STL AI PV could’ve used a bit more camera shake to mask some of the uncanny motion, some could get a bit nauseated tho.. ahh 3d animation.

        • Yeah, STL was definitely a rough implementation. I mostly love it because of the choreography and actually kind of wish I could see the actual dancer doing it instead of IA.

The latest Hachiouji/Wakamura video for Anon/Kanon though has probably what I think is some of the smoothest animation I’ve seen yet (which is surprising because Wakamura has been pretty lazy lately), though in the end it’s probably just the excessive cuts and shake/track movement in the camera. Still, I give him especially big props for not mirroring the motion and actually capping two separate sequences so the two dancers are slightly out of sync.

          • tubers

That’s a very good rotoscope. Looks mocapped (and that’s what it “should” look like).

      • TheBlackRabbit

OH don’t get me wrong, i love an appreciate every bit of it, but it bothered me slightly XD.

  • Firion Hope

This looks interesting, kinda want it to come out here

    • Harvey Tejada Loto

      what anime?

      • Firion Hope

err sorry I’m dumb got it confused with super sonico for a sec

        • Harvey Tejada Loto

i thought it was mekaku city xD

  • tturtlejosh

    The gameplay looks really dynamic
    I like it

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Yeah seriously, looks excellent. Not into idols and stuff but I like the idea of using the analog. I hope the soundtrack is nice.

  • BentoBlame

Will be buying this, I like IA.

Though I still have my fingers crossed for her friend(and my fave Vocaloid), Yuzuki Yukari, to have her own game.

    • Altin

All of my yes and money!!!

    • Yuzuki Yukari

      YES yes absolutely

  • Kornelious

This game still has my gaze. Though I’ still trying to find the Collectors Edition to pre-order….And if this comes over, you can bet that I’ll double dip :P

    • Bryan

amiami still has collectors for preorder available.

      • Kornelious

Your right, but they don’t accept cancelations and I’m not sure when they charge you for the item :( I guess if I REALLY want it……

        • Bryan

They charge you once the shipping cost is confirmed. You still need to go into your paypal account to accept the order once they confirm the shipping.
But yes they don’t accept cancellations. However their price is always the best.

        • Ricardo C

Play Asia has it for pre-order too

          • Kornelious

Yeah but they sold out :(

  • s07195

1/4 of the initial song list are songs made by Jin…. Whether that’s good or bad, your mileage may vary.

  • So hyped for this, and so glad I decided to pick up the limited edition. Can’t wait =^_^=

  • wyrdwad

So apparently, you use the analog stick to move the receptor area on the circle while also pressing the buttons as they hit that receptor. So it kind of is like Gitaroo Man, but… waaaaaay harder-looking. ;)

    I’m definitely in for this!

  • DLC confirmed. Towards the end of the video they also state that they plan to add more songs later after the game is released.

Mixed feelings on that, I like to play imports on my NA account if possible, hate how DLC locks on region with the Vita.

  • DarkLight

    This needs a localzation.

  • MJLahey

Just pre-ordered from Amiami. This game looks awesome :)

  • I still prefer a DJ MAX Something from Pentavision ~

  • Altumn

the gameplay looks kind of confusing, but in a way challenging (in a good way). But I really hate the character model compared to Project Diva.

Seems interesting and different for sure.
