New Atelier Shallie Video Shows Wilbell And Homura In Action

By Spencer . May 20, 2014 . 2:20am

Players will run into big bosses in Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. Shallote and Shallistera can use alchemy to fight monsters. Homura, a homunculi treasure hunter, is a master swordsman and Wilbell… has wings? Looks like she didn’t need to learn how to fly on a broom after all.

Wilbell uses All Range Sword in this video and jumps in with an assist attack.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea comes out on July 17 for PlayStation 3.

The music always good! Nice battle theme:)

  • Off chance anyone knows if this game will play more like Mana Khemia? Atelier Anne and Ronona kinda turned me off to the series, as they always felt a solid step down from the gameplay of the MK series…

    • DyLaN

Atelier E&L Logy side is pretty much Mana Khemia, or so they said.

      • Oh, I certainly hope so. I’ll give it a look – I absolutely adored the battle system in the MK games, so a return to something similar would be great. I don’t know what they were thinking with Anne and Rorona, though. :/

        • Gregor

I confirm, Atelier Escha & Logy is pretty similar to Mana Khemia, I too wanted a return to that battle system :)

          • The only issue I’m like to have is time management. Never a fan of when games rush me – I prefer the way MK handles time passing to Atelier, as it was much more about story progress than actions taken.

          • Gregor

I’m not a fan of that either, but in both Ayesha and E&L they give you more than enough time, unlike Annie… and the way E&L story is structured (cycles) makes it pretty much impossible to lose too much time, though it can get a bit repetitive…

        • Duo Maxwell

Actually, I would consider it’s a simplified version of Mana Khemia, since the battle system doesn’t have much depth in them.

Still a pretty good game, though.

Though you should know Mana Khemia was a deviation from what the series is about, while Rorona and Annie are pretty close to the five first games that were in the series. In other words, it was nothing like the Iris or the Mana Khemia games.

          • I’m aware. I found MK far more enjoyable, and would very much prefer that series to continue over Atelier.

          • aquagon

Mana Khemia is Atelier too. However, Gust is never going back to it: its games had terrible sales over at Japan, and they have never returned to a subseries after they have finished it.

          • I know. It’s just an instance where I find that subseries far more enjoyable than the series it spawned from – at least from the experience I had with the next two games that came out in the Atelier series. They both seemed like colossal steps backwards in terms of game design.

the best battle menu in atelier i’ve ever seen, and i hope this is not dissapointing like atelier ayesha

  • Kornelious

Wow, That boss looks awesome, it has good music, and a good battle system. I’m so pumped for this game now :D

    • Kornelious

And did I mention EPIC BATTLE MUSIC! XD

  • Spirit Macardi

Wait, there’s a character named Homura?

I think I know who Cristina Vee will be playing in the dub x3

    • Jesse

Amusingly, that’s Wilbell’s English VA. XD

  • Oh, man. I am so excited! Also, I liked Wilbell’s cape-wings already, but this just emphasizes what a great design they are. They look great as wings, but also make a very cute overdress.

Anybody see her boobies juggle? hmm? anybody? [:
