The Sonic franchise is getting another character in Sonic Boom, an alternate take on the world of Sonic the Hedgehog. As detailed in past reports, Sonic Boom covers a Wii U and Nintendo 3DS game, as well as a new TV series.

Sonic Boom is being developed by Big Red Button for Wii U and Sanzaru Games for Nintendo 3DS. The Wii U version is being built using a modified version of Crytek’s CryEngine 3, and will support co-op gameplay.
