Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Gets Teddie Punching Bag As A Pre-order Bonus

By Sato . June 12, 2014 . 1:28am

If you’ve ever wanted to beat up Persona 4’s Teddie in-game or in person, you’ll be able to by pre-ordering Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Atlus recently shared a look at some of the goodies that come with first-print copies and pre-orders.

In addition to the inflatable punching bag in the guise of Teddie, the game will also include 11 Persona tarot cards. The cards are the first set, and Persona Q pre-orders will include the second set of tarot cards.

Atlus also added the message of “… and more to come,” so you we can expect to hear about some extra bonuses in the near future.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be released in North America this Fall for PlayStation3  and Xbox 360.

  • Detrimont

to bad it’s probably going to be region locked again, because i want this….

    • Astraye
      • Detrimont

      • FX102A

Probably cos Atlus wants to enter the European market itself (digital only for now though) so they’ve regained the EU license from Zen (who frankly didn’t handle it well with their what, 9 month delay?)

        • Astraye

Well at least we got a physical release, not sure if we will have that with Atlus, considering they are releasing SMT IV only digital in Europe.

  • Ren Yuumei

    >The cards are the first set, and Persona Q pre-orders will include the second set of tarot cards.

    • Derek E Nay

Someone at Atlus has their troll face on.

      • God

Some men just want to see the world broke…

    • シカチュウ

I PO’ed the Persona Q and I had the *exact* reaction as you. They sure love to tease us …

  • DeAndre Atchison

Screw the Teddie balloon, those tarot cards are looking kinda sexy. I must have them all. Looks like I’m gonna be out at least $130 by atlus alone by the end of this year.
($40 for persona q, $40 for smash bros, and assuming $50 for this.)

Ignore the atlus part. Was half asleep when I wrote this

    • InfinityAge11

      Haha, try again :<
Ultimax is $60 and PQ is $50 for standard, $80 for Special Edition.

  • Heck, not even Kanji would punch a cute thing like that~!

    • TeachDRRR

I would, I’m considering pre-ordering this now, JUST for that…and the cards.

  • Makoto Yuki

lol the teddie face is so troll

    • Astraye

      cant wait to beat him

  • Asura

Not enough to make me give in and pay $60.
Still gonna wait until this drops under $25.

    • Nan

ikr?? tho the tarot cards split between a game I want and a game I don’t really care about is sad lmao

  • Abysswalker90

Was there any region restriction announced for this game? Because I want that.

  • dahuuuundge

Do we get Adachi as first release DLC for P4AU?

    • ShinNeoGranzon

We better. I plan to main him, and I do not want to have to wait several weeks and pay for him, though I will of I have to. If he isn’t a pre-order bonus, I wont buy the game until he comes out

  • Ecchitori-san

So how big is this punching bag we’re talking about?

    • Saphira

      18″ I think?

  • LordHyper

The classic MegaTen elitists may finally have their vengeance.

  • hng qtr

    >Teddie punching bag
Well, can’t say they don’t know their audience…

  • Limbless

I would pre-order this in a millisecond if they would just goddamn say it’s region free!

Edit: just saw down there that vg+ says it’s PAL region free… where did they hear that?

    • revenent hell

I can’t remember when they announced the region lock last time but it felt like it was close to the release time for the USA.

If they implement it here I am thinking they might do it in the same time frame.

    • greeeed

if it have sub and dub -> Japanese will just import USA version since it cheaper
      (40~50$ vs 70~80$)

on other hand PAL come out after 1 year like normal fast localization

      • Wappuli

Some may, but that group would be so small that it wouldn’t make any difference really. So that was just Atlus being extremely paranoid or just plain stupid.
And if that’s really what they were trying to prevent, then a better way would have been not leaving the Japanese text in game, that matters way more that voice acting.

        • greeeed

why do you think for first time Atlus game have Japanese voice?

          (hint: BlazBlue)

          • Wappuli

I’m sorry, but I don’t really get what you’re trying to ask here, or how it’s related to Blazblue.

If it’s just that why do I think Ultimax will have Japanese audio-option: Well, I didn’t even say yet that I was expecting that. But yes I do expect it to have dual audio, since the previous Arena also had it.

  • resuri

Going to get this even though I don’t have a PS3 yet. Must complete those tarot cards. ╰(‘ω’ )╯三

  • Kornelious

ohhh, are both this AND Persona Q getting Preimum Editions? Me likey :D

  • Skeptika Crediblus

Dammit, they’re really pricing me in with these Tarot cards. First Persona Q, now this…

  • neocatzon

They should include a guidebook on how to use the deck. I mean, there’s a plenty tarot decks out there, but since each deck is unique they should create one.

  • InsertOffensiveUsernameHere

So basically, they will allow us to train like Zangief or Akihiko with that Teddie punching bag. Okay.

  • Afternoon Intergalactic

    Adachi DLC please?

  • Jadfish

It’s too cute to punch by itself. Have it spout unbearable bear quotes though a speaker and I’ll take a jab at it

  • Satoshi Ookami

So here’s the rest of the cards…
    Well played, Atlus, well played.

  • Snorlaxation

I’m getting all the Tarot Cards. I’ve always wanted them, and now I shall have them…. (bwahahaha)

  • Rabbit

I want that Newcomer’s edition to come over. Maybe then I’ll pre-order. Though I wonder how big that Teddie is…

  • Ben Sylvia

The news that if I want to get the first set of cards I have to pre-order a game for systems I don’t have is sad news for me.

I guess I’ll keep hoping they announce a Vita version at launch soon. T.T

I’m still gonna try and get Persona Q though. But I’ll feel empty inside.
