See The Fight With Ramuh In Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Patch 2.3

Square Enix had a lot to share during E3 for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s upcoming patch 2.3 and beyond. While producer and director Naoki Yoshida previously discussed the upcoming features, you can now see them for yourself in the latest trailer.

The trailer begins with a brief look at the massive 72-man PvP mode, called Frontline, where three teams of up to 24 members will fight against each other. It might sound pretty hardcore, but the items will sync at around ilvl 80 or 90, so you won’t have to worry about having the best gear.

We also get a look at Ramuh’s upcoming Primal fight, along with more dungeons (hard mode versions) and questing features. At 4:50, we get to see some more personal features, such as the private chambers in your FC house, and a glimpse at Chocobo Raising.

Patch 2.3 also introduces the Desynthesis and a bunch of new recipes, so you crafters out there will have plenty to look forward to, along with a bunch of Gil that’s just waiting to be made.

The 24-man dungeon instance, Crystal Tower’s Labyrinth of the Ancients, which was introduced in patch 2.1, gets its next part in the Syrcus Tower. Similar tot he first part, it will focus more on casual players with a bunch of ilvl 100 armor as rewards.

Finally, the trailer ends with a little tease for the main quest scenario, as it looks like the Warriors of Light will have more trouble headed their way.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s Patch 2.3 is expected to launch on July 8, 2014.

  • Randgriz

  • Ardus

I always like the patch trailers they do before the release, Its like watching one of those “on the next episode” shorts that play on the end of some shows.

  • riceisnice

    I like Ramuh’s theme.

  • Postnjam

  • harmonyworld

is it me or is his beard more hilarious?
Too bad I don’t play anymore, but I probably wouldn’t have been a high enough level for this anyways~~

So hyped! Ramuh’s theme is really nice, albeit I kinda prefer Leviathan’s.

The next part of Crystal Tower looks amazing! I loved FF3, so seeing all the references (aside from CT itself) is a real treat.

The next dungeons also look great, though Tamtara HM looks pretty creepy. That flying face vaguely reminded me of something out of Drakengard, heheh.

  • I am hyped all over again! I can’t wait. July is almost here! =^_^=

  • Kornelious

Quite the nice meaty patch (Good music for Ramuh battle), I Will have to jump back into the game…….eventually -_-

  • Red Antares

Ramuh’s theme first few seconds sounds kinda like the “One who bares fangs at God” from the Xenogears soundtrack and the rest makes me feel like I’m watching .hack//sign, I like that.

    • Naryl

to me it sounded a lot like a Shadow Hearts theme

  • This game is the most “Final Fantasy” we will get for a good 15 years. And I like this one more than most offerings from the 7th Generation.

    • Daniel Williams

no, that would be bravely default :P

      • Ferrick

bravely default would be the most final fantasy non-final fantasy game we got from SE in these recent years

      • No, no. That’s the most “Final Fantasy” non-Final Fantasy game made by SE in recent years. I’m talking about the most “Final Fantasy” Final Fantasy game made by SE in recent years and beyond.

  • Kittymimiko

I hated Stone Vigil. Hate to see it on hard T__T

But excited for Chocobo raising ^^

  • Chris Cruz

On the Ramuh fight. If those lil spheres of lightning are what I think they are, this fight’s gonna get nasty for healers and Ranged DPS
