By Sato . June 26, 2014 . 4:32pm

Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines’ release is just about two weeks away, and Sony Computer Entertainment announced that a demo will let you try the game’s beginning of the story and a year of the game’s time. While waiting, you can check out the game’s opening trailer.

The trailer starts with a look at what appears to be fallen members of the family with a cursed bloodline, caused by the ventriloquist villain known as Abe no Seimei. However, after being saved by the goddess Nueko, they were able to be revived through the ceremony of soul recalling.

So far, we know of eight starter classes like Swordsman,  Cannonneers, and Monks, which you can check out in another recent trailer for the game, along with some other details on the game’s features.

Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines will be released in Japan on July 17, 2014 for PlayStation Vita. It’ll also be headed to the West later on.

What a pretty opener. Reminds me of old 90s animes

    • TheCynicalReaper

I miss 80’s and 90’s anime. Even up to the early 00’s was great.
Now it’s just little sister moe faces or typical sports/SOL anime. The action packed stuff gets stupid part way through, too.

This game has me interested just from the premise alone. If it brings up classic anime nostalgia then I’m hooked.

      • Peter

And now you’ll tell me to stop cherrypicking, but that was the entire point. You’re the one that’s being biased. There’s a lot of moeshit now, and there used to be quite a decent amount as well.

        • TheCynicalReaper

No, I agree, however it’s undeniable that the current trend in anime is to have a little/young girl star/co-star. Also incest and little sisters are MASSIVE now, which they weren’t before.

While there has and always will be a mixed bag in terms of anime (like anything else), the current trends are just bad.

But yeah, it’s not all bad. Still enjoy the nostalgic feeling, though

          • God

Dude, there is a huge percentage of old anime that has young girls as stars/co-stars.

Edit: Btw, how is that anime in the “now” section with 2 mechas cross-countering each other called?

  • Kaetsu

There’s an extra “O” in “Bloodlines” that needs to be removed from the headline :)

    • darke

One can never have enough Type-O Bloood in Blooodlines. :)

  • Firion Hope

This game is looking amazing. I’m thinking I just might try out the demo when it releases, I want to try the Freedom wars demo aswell anyway.

  • Kornelious

Man, that opening was beautiful. I can’t wait for this game :)

Called it before and calling it again now, unless this game goes with moral relativism as one of it’s themes, Seimei is gonna be the good guy and Nueko is gonna be the true antagonist.

    • Zens

I don’t exactly see how is that gonna happen, though.

There’s nothing that shows Nueko as a secret antagonist. Her name is just a play on words, but that’s all. Seimei in some works of fiction is considered a villain.

      • God

I don’t exactly remember why, and i’m too lazy to re-investigate, but i discussed it at length with some other siliconera user, and found ot it was quite plausible.

    That collector’s edition *drools*

  • Beautiful trailer =^_^=
