Awakened Fate Ultimatum’s Hero Isn’t Psyched About Being A God

NIS America recently announced that The Guided Fate Cross Thesis Awakening, or what is now known as Awakened Fate Ultimatum is headed to North America and Europe in Spring 2015. NIS also showed off a new trailer for the game.

To catch you up on the story of Awakened Fate Ultimatum, it’s about the protagonist Shin Kamikaze, a gentle and passive young man, who gets killed in an unexpected way, only to wake up and being told that he is now a god.

Since he’s a new god, Shin doesn’t exactly have full control of his powers, but he gets help from two close angels, Jupiel and Arle, to help him out. However, the premise of the game is also about making tough choices… like deciding which one of those two girls get to live.

The trailer gives us a look at the blonde-haired Jupiel and Arle the red-head, along with Shin, who seems to be pretty baffled at the fact that he already left his life behind, and doesn’t seem too thrilled about the prospect of being a new god.

Awakened Fate Ultimatum will be released in Spring 2015 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 3.

Is an anime protagonist ever thrilled to be in the position they’re thrown into? One which just happens to include cute/hot companions no less.

    • Namuro

Not just the anime protagonists; just look at Mr. “I Never Asked For This.” LOL

Actually, most people in real life are not satisfied with their current status. It’s just the way we humans are…

Boy… how I wish I can be a divine being, surrounded by hot babes…

To be fair, the first game made it pretty clear the job itself is awful.

i remember when watching Dave the Usher’s LP of the first game that while at first the idea frightens him a bit, he starts warming up to the idea relatively quickly, in one instance introducing himself to someone “Sup, I’m God.” Much to his Angel Sidekick’s dismay.

No Game No Life. The MCs absolutely vastly prefer the new world they are summoned into and they decided to remain in that world.

Kenzen Robo Daimidaler. while the MC hesitates at first to pilot the robot, once he fully understands the situation and how the robot is powered by perversion, he falls in love with his new job.

My preference for romantic comedy anime/mangas/light novels always prompts people to assume that I like them because I want to ‘be’ them; when quite frankly it’s 99% schadenfreude.

Given the stuff most of them have to put up with, I completely agree with the “I never asked for this” attitude a lot of them take. A nice, quiet life with a single girl would be much preferable to barely evading death on a regular basis. :?

I can’t wait for the new yousei tekikou single

    • DyLaN

Wasn’t the OP song out ady? Or do you mean the eventual Vocal Track OST release?

      • Kumiko Akimoto

I can’t remember honestly, I’m not sure if I heard it from an album or if I heard it from a previous pv.

    Tough choices? HA

your joke is so funny, chosing between the 2 would be easy given i have a few minutes to understand which flanderized personality they have, if one’s Tsundere she automatically gets the ax making the choice the easiest thing ever.

also isn’t thrilled to Literally be God? Oh woe is you, you are now THE ALMIGHTY CREATOR.

      Speak for yourself.

Tsundere is an automatic win for the rest of us.

In case any1 is wondering abt the poll result as of this comment:

    – Angel Side: 7176 votes VS 2916 votes :Devil Side

Jupiel brigade is still steamrolling Arle as usual. This is reminding me quite a bit of the Dengeki TAMNI poll where every1 pushed Mikoto to the altar to prevent the troll voted character(s) from winning.

Also, seems like AFU/Kamikuro is going to be much more serious than its prequel. But this is NIS so I’m sure their style of humor should be present in the game as well since the humor is one of the things I like abt TGFP.

Still waiting for news on a relativist route, i mean, we got a relativist antagonist in the first game, now i want a relativist as a Main Character… I don’t care if i have to kill them both to get there, or if i have to destroy the world… I. WANT. RELATIVISM.

  • Kornelious

The fact that your character dies, and that people will die later in due to what you decide, still weird’s me out for an NIS game, I’m sure it will still maintain the NIS charm……though for how long? O_O

Still set on choosing Jupiel though…..She helps when trying to repress the evil side of me >:)
