Class of Heroes 2G Getting Limited Physical Edition

By Ishaan . July 7, 2014 . 2:00pm

Back in March, Gaijinworks announced that they would bring Class of Heroes 2G to the PlayStation 3 as a download title in North America. More recently, they announced that the game is getting a limited edition physical release as well.

The physical edition will go on sale once the game’s pre-sale period wraps up on July 27th. The limited edition package will come with a a double-sided package cover insert, full colour ink-scented manual, full colour disk art and a serial numbered hologram attached to each game package.

Limited edition physical copies will be available via the Gaijinworks website for $49.99 (plus another $4 for shipping). Meanwhile, the download version of the game will continue to be sold for $34.99.

    Already pre-ordered ^-^

  • Michael Kelehan

Hey, I didn’t realize that the PS3 version allows a PSP or Vita to be used as a second screen, not just for remote play, but as a Wii U-style screen with additional information. Very cool.

    • Ladius

It’s a really cool new feature Gaijinworks apparently developed on its own, I hope some other developer will employ it in the future.

      • Pyrotek85

Yeah I didn’t know it could do that either, pretty neat.

  • Aristides

Ummm isn’t the game already in pre-order phase? I think the 27th is when pre-orders close…

    • chibidw

It is. Matter of fact, from now until the 27th is the ONLY opportunity you’ll have to get a physical version, as they will only manufacture enough to cover the pre-orders. After that it’s digital only.

      • Aristides

Isn’t the article a little misleading? It’s kinda worded like they’re gonna start selling the game the 27th….

        • chibidw

What’s funny is that they’re already a week late on this news – you’d figure they could just take an extra ten minutes to research how the promotion is working before posting the article.

    • bob

That what I was thinking too, if you read that and waited ’til the 28th you’d be f*cked out of the opportunity to buy a physical copy.

Gaijinworks is also doing a giveaway every week of the presale, from OLED Vitas to other unannounced things, so act now folks.

  • Strawberry Starlet

Just a quick question. Which Class of Heroes game is it that has actual 3rd person fights? I can’t seem to recall the name…

    • Kornelious

I think you are thinking of Shin Ken to Mahō to Gakuenmono. It was only released in Japan….just like Class of Heroes 3D…….And Class of Heroes 3 :(

    • ClaireBeare

…what? Did I break a rule here on Siliconera or something?

      • M’iau M’iaut

If you are going to post a blind link — just say something as simple as ‘this one’ or whatnot.

        • ClaireBeare

Oh, wow. That is unfair judgement if you didn’t even look at it, but then again I didn’t elaborate my comment in English. I guess I could have been some random porn ad bot, sure.

          • M’iau M’iaut

We just have too many spam bots show up in too many forms. No reason to ask the community to risk what could be included when going to an unknown site. Sorry.

          • ClaireBeare

Sorry for arguing, I’m just genuinely surprised because I thought I gave a quick simple honest answer to a question that was even acknowledged by the inquirer with a vote up. The Japanese title, and a link to the official homepage. It’s not the first time I’ve done that here either, but now I know the next time I can’t resist the urge answer a similar question again I need to prepend my link with, “this one”.

  • Kornelious

Been planning to order this for a while now, but Pay-Now pre-orders always through me off. Though it is understandable because they are a much smaller company, I still have to plan out when the best time to purchase it will be -_-

Still definently gonna get it, and thanks for the deadline Ishaan, I have been trying to figure out how long have for a while! XD

    • Alex Cattaneo

      I know what you mean.
I pre ordert the psp physical version and since i live in the eu it took a shithell long time BUT!!! The game did came! Soo in my vieuw you can trust them.

    • Aristides

You can trust them, they’ve done this before and they have a high level of transparency as to what they’re doing.

      • Kornelious

Good to know. I’m gonna pre-order probably next week…thanks! :)

  • Alex Cattaneo

    And got it.
Will always support physical editions of games!

  • Ladius

I bought two copies some days ago, I really appreciate Ireland’s dedication to physical copies and I’m sure those will be nice collectibles in the future.

  • VWinds

Is there a list of differences this game has over the PSP version?
I’m curious why Vic brought over 2G over instead of 3.

    • Aristides

3 is being translated as we speak. We’ll be seeing it soon :P

  • Spirit Macardi

I’m still hoping to see them localize the 3DS game, but I’ll totally get this!

I really like the Class of Heroes games. They just have so much charm and cuteness to them, which is a huge selling point to me. I’m certainly glad that there’s a company still willing to take a chance on them, though I’d also like to see Acquire actually make more entries in the series for some current-gen consoles (or even PC).

  • Jake Joe

    Any Info on the Audio???
    Is it just English Dub???

    • darke

Well I haven’t noticed the usual screams of “I don’t buy it unless it’s dubbed!” in this thread, so I would assume there’s an English dub. But… I honestly can’t find any information on it, even their site doesn’t seem to mention whether there’s Japanese or English voice overs. :(

      • Xenu

There was never an english dub for any of the games, and there won’t be. The fact this game is being published in NA is a miracle in itself. There would be no way for them to afford a voice cast if they’re producing the physical copies made-to-order.

        • darke

Cool. It’s just there’s no information out there in obvious places that I can find anywhere.

And like I said there’s been so much screaming recently about the lack of English dub of games that I figured if there wasn’t one for this there would at least a little bit of in the threads associated, but I couldn’t find anything either. :?

  • Mike Pureka

Is this game good? Can anyone give me a run down?

  • triablos

Are they renaming this to Class of Heroes Freedom Unite for the west?

  • Lionxie

Whats the difference between this one and the PSP version? Is it just a port?
