Beyond Earth Pre-Order Incentives: 25% Off + Exoplanet Bonus

Update 10/23: Civilization: Beyond Earth releases tomorrow in a couple more hours. We’ve updated to the best deal available listed below.

Earlier this week Firaxis gave details on its DLC sweetener they’re throwing in as a pre-order bonus for the upcoming October 24th release of Civilization: Beyond Earth. It’s six extra playable “Exoplanet” maps, which are actually named after real-life Exoplanets found on other star systems. Of course we might know the approximate size of an Exoplanet, but beyond that they’re layered with whatever interesting features the Firaxis Team can dream up.

If the extra 6 map packs doesn’t impress you much (didn’t really do anything for me), combining it with the pre-order discount at various retailers makes it a much stronger incentive. The deal below runs until release and is a solid choice for Civ nerds like me that will be playing on Day 1 (and if you’re not you should probably just wait 2 years later for the Complete edition).

Beyond Beyond Earth, we’re coming in at the tail end of the Uplay Summer Sale with a dynamite deal on Watch Dogs Deluxe. Uplay has it priced at only $46.89 – or 33% off the usual $69.99. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game and 5 additional DLCs. You can also grab the standard edition for $41.19 but for an extra $5 or so, the extra DLC content is actually at a good price (can’t believe I just wrote that).

Another deal to keep an eye on is EA’s own Titanfall dropping to an all new low price point. This week Origin reduced the MSRP from $60 to $40, and on top of that is running a limited time 50% off promotion making Titanfall only $19.99. Over at the Steam Store, they’re running a 2K Games sale, although all of the titles have been slightly cheaper before. Last for the PC deals, GMG resurfaced its “50 Games You Must Play Before You Die” Sale, which brings back some solid titles starting at $6. We picked a few decent copies below.

Finally, there are actually a few console deals this weekend with pre-owned units of PlayStation 4 going for $299 at CowBoom (aka BestBuy). Good condition units are basically gone though with most at rating of “4” and a few “5s” left. (Ratings guide). If you don’t care about a scratched up PS4 and you just want to save $100, this is one option to consider.

    2 years it is.

    • Not sure if I can wait 2 years. Most people will probably pick it up when it hits 50% in pricing.
