Hellblade Is Set During The Time Of Vikings And Celts

In a new developer diary for Hellblade, Ninja Theory reveal that the game is set during the time of Vikings and Celts. In order to find art inspiration for the game, the development team visited a Viking exhibition at the British Museum in London.

During the trip, the Ninja Theory art team checked out different pieces of Viking jewellery and myths, some of which they plan on implementing in the game. The one thing that did stand out to them was the amount of ornate gold they came across, which they didn’t expect to see.

Ninja Theory also show off a bunch of the concept art they’ve designed for the game, although it should be pointed out that these concepts won’t necessarily make it into the game, since they’re concepts for the moment.

You can find larger versions of the art concepts on the Ninja Theory blog.
