Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Will Release In 2015

By Sato . September 18, 2014 . 9:00am

During Tokyo Game Show 2014, Konami announced (thanks, 4Gamer) during a presentation that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will release sometime in 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The game is also slated for release on PC, although it is unclear when the PC version will be made available.

Similar to the footage that was shown during Konami’s Gamescom conference last month, they also shared some more during Tokyo Game Show, where we get to see Big Boss sneaking and exploring around a jungle full of guards, with the help of his partner, Quiet.

At around 13:35, they show Big Boss stun an enemy with his robot arm, and they also mentioned that he’ll have all kinds of different “arms”. In the next part, they show how you can coordinate with Quiet to take out targets from long range.

Quiet seems to provide cover fire from a distance with her sniper rifle for the most part, but she’ll even occasionally jump right into the action. With helicopters and hundreds of enemies in the area, it looks like the Boss will need all the help he could get, this time around.

While sneaking around, things can get pretty messy if discovered, and even with Quiet’s support, there might be some times where it’s best to run. However, if you’re cornered and can’t find a way out, she’ll do everything she can to help Big Boss make a safe escape.

No specific release date? I DID say over and over that this’ll be my reason to get a PS4. Maybe I’ll look for a new copy of Type-0 with the XV demo next year rather than at March.

These demonstrations keep continuing to impress me. Look at all those neat toys use can play with in that sandbox. I especially how you can mark enemies.

  • Namuro

That was incredible! I love fine details like how you can push enemies with the balloon decoy and all. Nice detail on the Puma boots, too! LOL

That Quiet, though… She must had some kind of operation to enhance her physical strength. No wonder she was able to jump from a helicopter and landed with ease in the other trailer. Also, that mid-air grenade shot. That was just crazy! I wonder what other things she can do.

Anyway, the game looks superb. I wanna play it now!

Fire fights are so intense now. Jesus christ.

As long as it doesn’t come out in December 31st 2015..

      I know right?!

    • God

You just HAD to say it, didn’t you? Now Murphy’s Law will screw us all.

2015 – The year of gaming.

    • Justin Lorence

Seriously. So many amazing games coming out next year. I haven’t been this excited about gaming in probably a decade.

    • Adrian Duran

this typically happens a year or two after the new consoles release

  • chroma816

I’m so excited for this game that it’s scary.

This, FFXV, and (if it releases next year) KH3 are going to blow everyone away.

    • Ric Vazquez

      My thoughts exactly.

  • JustThisOne

I look forward to Quiet’s codec conversations. :>

  • DudeJericho

Totally looking forward to this game!

Hopefully its mid 2015! I don’t want any game to interfere with my Monster Hunter time, and I also need to somehow watch/play MGS4

    • PowerOfTheFlamesIori

Speak for yourself bro! The sooner I get MGS the better! :D I love Monster Hunter but a new MGS is just as overdue!

  • Ric Vazquez

I knew it! Mah body is ready!

  • Ric Vazquez

they also mentioned that he’ll have all kinds of different “arms”( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My favorite character is Raiden and this girl named “Quiet” seem to have some resemblance to Raiden’s superhuman abilities. I’m quite liking it.

  • Ridho Siregar

Hmm I’m wondering the easter eggs things we could do with crew on field.

  • Dear god, this is my reason to get a PS4.

Can hardly wait for the release date :)
