How are we in October already!? With the October calendar, we’re now in a busy fall season where all the Triple-A come running out of the woodwork. You’ve got next week’s Alien: Isolation, NBA 2K15, and Final Fantasy XIII for the PC (the last one being a port of a port).

The following week, we’ve got The Evil Within coming out the same day as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel – both large titles pushed by large publishers. Deals are finally surfacing for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, with GMG offering a solid $12 discount for the Steam key. The Season Pass for the game is also available on sale with the same 20% off coupon.

Finally, there’s the end of the month Civilization: Beyond Earth along with Xbox One’s much-anticipated Sunset Overdrive. For the rest of the PC list, MMO WildStar is on sale at $48, while ESO is chopped to half-off at $25. At the lower end of the price spectrum, you’ve got Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Terraria, both excellent indie titles to pick up.

On the console end, there are a bunch of Collector’s Editions going on sale, as retailers clear up warehouse space in anticipation of the holiday season. Over at Dealzon, we’re already placing bets on how low the PS4 or Xbox One will go during Black Friday. Our best guess? A $299 PS4 and Xbox One. The Xbox One may go as low as $279 as a doorbuster deal from select retailers, but we doubt the PS4 will drop that low.

I love Borderlands, but I think i’ll pass on the pre-sequel hoping they release a Playstation 4 version.

    • If they’d do a Linux version of BL2, they’ll get a it on the PS4 eventually.

      • subsamuel01

That’s why I’m just going to wait.

  • nomuru2d

    Screw Gearbox.

    • John Diamond

er, care to elaborate why? i’m aware there are some well founded reasons to dislike Gearbox, but what are those reasons?

      • nomuru2d

Their head is fully willing to support one of their writers who accused gamers of supporting distribution of CP.

        • Crazy_O

The two of them would hate most content on this website and its userbase that loves this niche.

        • ronin4life

          “CP”?
          What is that?

          • nomuru2d

            Child Pornography.

          • ronin4life

            …wow.
            Like, ALL gamers? Lol…

          • nomuru2d

Yes. Anthony Burch accused all gamers of that.

          • M’iau M’iaut

Folks now have enough information to research on their own please keep things on topic. Thanks.

        • subsamuel01

All I care about is the games, love Borderlands and that’s all that matters. Could care less about the politics behind it.

      • Stephen Mc Devitt

Aliens: Colonial Marines, which made the whole pre-order thing despicable and uncharismatic.

  • Ni ~Algidus~

I’ll do the same thing as I did with BO2. that is…wait for the GOTY version of Pre-sequel then wait for it to get a price drop.

  • Stephen Mc Devitt

Yyyeeeaaahhhh, I don’t care if the Borderland games are really good, just don’t pre-order anything from Gearbox and just wait for reviews, let’s plays and word of mouth, especially after Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Knowing the sequels of other IP today (i.e. Sims 4), The Pre-Sequel will likely have even more content cut out of the game and sold (or re-sold if it’s from Capcom) as DLC.

  • passthegrenadeplease

If the Xbox One actually does go for that price during Black Friday, then I think its safe to say that temptation is going to get the best of me. At a whopping cool 300 smackeroos, consider yourself a new customer Microsoft. Really interested in their offerings and the titles that are coming out for the system so I might bite on that deal–I’ve been eyeing for a price drop and this looks like a good opportunity to get one. Going to cross my fingers that deal comes to fruition but I’m not going to hold my breath on that one!:x

  • triablos

Borderlands pre-sequel trailer was pretty awesome. It was funny and I was entertained the whole 10 minutes. I was actually going to buy the game but then I realised I don’t have Xbox live and other internet issues. :(

    • Christian Bedingfield

The trailer made me want to play the hell out of it, though I couldn’t help but notice that between the lines they were really saying ‘We know we fucked up the last one, here’s how we’re gonna win you back!” If only everything could be solved with low gravity and pew pew lasers! Cant wait

      • triablos

The last trailer or game? Because I hear borderlands 2 was really good

        • Christian Bedingfield

It had awesome gameplay and hilarious characters, but I was having a very serious problem with never getting any good loot. Never anything rare, literally never, and what I did find just sucked. I can only hold out hope for so long before there’s just no point in playing
